Portfolio Management & Monetization Studies
Studies related to portfolio management and monetization focus primarily on organizing and evaluating a client’s own patent portfolio to support keep/abandon decisions and to provide guidance relating to licensing, commercialization, and enforcement options.
Portfolio Organization studies organize a client’s patent portfolio according to a custom-designed taxonomy and map patents to business units and products to better track and understand asset performance.
Patent Mining projects identify high-value patents for enforcement or acquisition. Patent Scoring and Ranking, as shown in the sample spreadsheet below, is generally a component of these studies.
Evidence of Use studies seek evidence of products in the marketplace that infringe on one or more of the client’s patents, with the results typically presented in a claim chart.

Data Analytics
Data analytics projects can be performed to both provide answers to specific technical and business questions and to provide ongoing competitive intelligence.
IP Data Analytics projects encompass researching, collecting, cleaning, and structuring large data sets to facilitate a client’s technical review and analysis. These studies can include legal status, assignee, family member, litigation, and agent ranking searches.
