Tribe TraditionsThe Anasazi did Tribal Dances.The Anasazi would walk around a fire like chickens or peacocks.The Anasazi threw bread on the ground and then ate the bread like chickens.3

What Did They Eat? Anasazi Indians ate corn, beans, and squash. The Anasazi also ate Watermelon, ground cherry, and milkweed. The Anasazi Indians were farmers so they would eat the food they harvested. The Anasazi would eat most of food they received, they were not very picky.

Where Did They Live?

The Anasazi Tribe lived by the Colorado River on the West and The San Juan River. The Anasazi lived in the northern San Juan (Masa Verde) region. This area took up the southwestern corner of Colorado and southeastern corner of Utah. The Anasazi Indians were farmers so they must have lived near fields. The Anasazi probably also lived near water for their crops.5

How Did They Dress?The Anasazi wove blankets, robes, kilts, shirts, aprons, and belts. The Anasazi Indians wove the clothes out of animal hair and human hair. The Anasazi Indians Also wove thick robes for the Winter. The footwear was sandals Moccasins, and possibly snowshoes for the Winter. Jewelry was also used too.6

There were none we know of because The Anasazi were Ancient People and left no records.Famous People7

ContributionsThe Anasazi have left their Pueblos behind.Another contribution is pottery and jewelry.The Anasazi also taught us a lot about irrigation 8

How Big is Tribe?We dont know the exact number. But the tribe was over three-thousand Anasazi Indians. Thirty-thousand is the biggest number of Anasazi Indians in each tribe/group.9

Extra Information About the TribeThe word Anasazi is Navajo for Ancient Ones or Ancient Enemies.The Anasazi Tribe lived for about two-thousand years.The Anasazi were mainly Kachina Religion.10
