Anatomy of a Hygiene Appointment Program
Sam S. Simos, DDS2015/16 Lecture Notes
WHAT DO YOU DO?
What do you tell people you do? What do people perceive you do?
I believe that you undervalue what you do and who you are. I believe a hygienist is more that a tooth cleaner. I believe that you are a vital part of creating a successful dental practice and you are the reason that patients return or don't return. I believe that you can be a;educator, producer, manager, clinician, psychologist,Marketer, advertiser, sales person.
I believe that the term ‘Hygienist’ is the lowest common denominator of what your potential truly is in the dental office.
VALUE WHAT YOU DO. VALUE THE PEOPLE WHO ALLOW YOU TO WORK ON THEM.
VALUE YOURSELF!!!Dysfunctional hygiene departments fail to value their services.
Why are you being underutilized?
