Coaches, Players and Fans,

Thank you very much for your interest in the A-11 Offense. One of the great attributes of the A-11 is

getting all players, regardless of number involved as potential scoring weapons.

In 2009, our right guard (#56) dropped into the back field and took a hand-off 78 yards for a touchdown,

our left Anchor (#77) took a liberty reverse and (#69) dropped off the line of scrimmage and meshed with

the QB to option the weak-side linebacker.

In traditional football, these players are used 99.99% as blockers, but in the A-11 we put athletic players in

ineligible numbers and use them as potential scoring threats. The result? Our opponents must account for

these players no mater where we place them on the field, stretching the defense.

The 8 plays included in this package go in order with the list on the next page, of what an ineligible

numbered player can legally do with the football according to traditional football rules. We hope you try a

few of these plays with your team this season and even come up with a few of your own!

X: Deep post route, keep it skinny and behind the Free Safety.

A: Zoom Motion, then run a shallow cross at 4 yards depth. . .Keep going across field!

ANCHOR (R): This play takes advantage of extreme backside pursuit from the WLB on roll-out plays. Once

the WLB crosses the face of the Anchor (R), the (R) drops back 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage for a

backwards throwback pass from the QB.

READS ARE: (1) Deep Angle Route, (2) Delay Rub Route and (3)Check down to the Shallow Cross

WHITE BOX: Decoy 190 Pass Pro and slowly lose your man to the roll-out side and set up the zero block

versus the pursuit after the throwback pass.

E: Stay home and block SLB. If no blitz, protect the QB from the backside pursuit with a Hunt Block.

B: Delay while the (Z) begins his Angle Route, then run your Rub route up the right side. Wide open on film!

Z: Angle Route: Sprint across the field to 25 yards depth. Keep going!

1: #1 QB: Sell the roll-out towards the LOS, then throwback to the (R).

Executed properly, the over-pursuing defense will have (9) players either focusing on or chasing the #1 QB, leaving the left

Cornerback and FS all alone to cover half the field. The Ineligible Anchor becomes the QB.

PIEDMONT SINKS RIVAL ST. PATRICKS WITH LAST SECOND HITCH & PITCH

:28 THE ANATOMY OF THE PLAY

I got into the huddle and knew we needed a big play because we weren't quite in field goal range. Jeremy called play 27, or the

hitch and pitch. When I read what the play was on the play card I knew the ball was coming to me because I was on the wide side

of the field. I knew this play could either be huge, or it could be a huge disaster. Jeremy snapped the ball, and I ran my five steps

and turned. Sure enough, there was the ball. Jeremy put it perfectly, right into my hands at about my face height. The corner and

safety on my side were good, so naturally they collapsed on me immediately. I caught the ball and looked to where Jesse was

supposed to be and he was right there. I had it in my hands, and i didn't have time to make a real clean pitch. So i just pushed the

ball in that direction, praying that Jesse would make the catch. He grabbed it cleanly and bolted down the sideline. The second he

caught it I knew he was gone, and the celebration in the end zone was probably the best moment of my life .

Running over to the sidelines, I was thinking that with about 30 seconds left we would just run the ball up the middle to gain some

yards and get closer for our kicker, Lawrence Davis, to boot through the game-winning field goal. But apparently, I forgot for asecond who my head coach was of course Coach Bryan wanted to roll the dice and take a gamble. Running back to the huddle,

in my head I flipped through about a million different scenarios that could occur after the next play. To be completely honest, one

possibility I did not envision was our team scoring one of the most exciting touchdowns in Piedmont Football history.

We broke from the huddle and as I walked up to the line of scrimmage, I surveyed the defense, keying on the depth of the

cornerbacks. As the ball was snapped, both defensive backs backpedaled, and I knew exactly where I was going to throw the ball.

I didnt hesitate for even a moment when releasing the ball, knowing that it was going to Joey Holland who quite possibly has the

softest hands of any receiver Ive ever played with. But at that same instance, I realized that the game was no longer in my own

hands. Joey turned on a dime, and caught the ball securely with his hands. The safety, linebacker, and cornerback all collapsed on

him immediately, but with a perfectly timed push from Holland to Milne, the defenders could do nothing but watch. Once I saw

Jesse turn up the sideline and realized that all he had was green in front of him, I started jumping up and down, and yelled and

celebrated so much that I didnt even actually see him cross the goal line. Even now, just writing about it, I still get goose bumps.
