GeographyThe geography of Greece had a Mediterranean climate. The summers were hot and the winters were breezy.The geography was also split into 3 parts the coast, the lowlands and the mountains. The soil of the peninsula made it so less then 20% of the land could be farmed. Because the land could not be farmed they on the importation of wheat over the sea. The people of Greece also depended on the sea because it was hard to travel around the mountains. The Greeks also grew olives, fruits, vegetables, and almonds. Finally the Greeks also trade what they grew.

GovernmentGreece had a unique type of government with 2 levels the first level is a direct democracy which people vote to make laws. The other type of government is a representative democracy where people vote on 1 person to make the laws. One cool thing about the government was when person named Selon was elected he forgave all debt and he created his government out of the 400 most poor people in Athens. To be in the government you had to be a direct descendent of one of the first settlers of Greece. If you were part of the government t you would have to lead an army in war and help create and change the laws.

Types of governmentThe four types of government in Greece are•The first type is Monarchy which is

ruled by a king.•The second type of government is oligarchy which is ruled by a small group•The next type of government is tyranny which is ruled by a dictator•Finally there is democracy which is ruled by people voting.

ReligionIn Greece religion was every thing. It told why every thing happens in nature like why the sun comes up and why the seasons change. They thought it happened because of gods and goddesses. People had special places to pray to the gods they had them in their houses and they could also pray in temples. Temples were homes to giant statues of the gods and religious festivals were held out side of them. priest the most important religious person in Greece it was beloved he could talk to the gods.

How to become a priestThere were only two ways to become a priest in Greece.•The first way you could be a priest is if you mother or father was one you could carry the job through the family.•Finally a dying priest urgent to find another priest could declare you the new priest.

After life in GreeceThe Greeks also believed in an after life. They thought if you worshiped the gods they would help you and when you died they would take care of you. They also thought if you didn’t worship the gods then they would punish you.

OlympicsGreeks also held the Olympic games. When this happened every one went to Olympia to participate in the games. while during the games if any fighting happened it was considered a disrespect to the gods. The reason why it was a disrespect is the Olympics were a religious festive that is why all city states participated. The Olympics were also considered a duty to the gods and it was more important then a duty to your city state which was war so it was prohibited any way.

clothesIn ancient Greece the clothing was simple. In the summer both men and women wore linen and in winter they wore clothes made from wool. Geeks also dyed there clothes with berries and bark.

Who made the clothesIn Greek house holds 1 of 3 people made the clothes either the mom the sister or the women slaves. You could also buy clothes in agora AKA, the market place.

OTHER FACTS•In Greece cats were not popular but in Egypt cats were sacred.•Greece has the highest shipments of olives and they still do•Greece has some of the wonders of the world like the giant gold statue of the god Zeus and the hanging gardens of Babylon
