Upanasids is 'an organisedwhole, a unity ofdiversities'. Pindarama is'Rama's Universe' or'Rama as someone who isthe universe'.

In the Krittivasi Ramayana,Ahiravan (Ahiravan orMahiravan), brother ofRavana, was a rakshasawho secretly carried awayRama and his brotherLakshmana to the nether-world, consulted hisfriends and decided tosacrifice the life of the twodivine brothers at the altarof his chosen deity,goddess Mahamaya. ButHanuman saved their lifeby killing Ahiravan and hisarmy.The nether-world or

'patala' is often identifiedas the South American land-mass.

In the Valmiki Ramayana,after the abduction of Sita,Sugreeva - the 'vanara'commander, orders hischiefs to 'go round theearth and fetch all themonkey champions on

earth'. The chiefs go tovarious mountains, rivers,oceans, and forests andmotivate all monkeys toreach Sugreeva at once'.Valmiki Ramayana,Kishkinda Kand, Chapter37).

The ancient name of Brazil,that is Pindorama, is alsorelated to an ancient tribeof Brazil by the name'RamaRama'. TheRamaRama were a Tupispeaking group ofconsiderable size living in

an expedition in the 1920slead by Colonel P.H.Fawcett into the woods ofthe Brazilian Amazonwhere he chanced upon anancient city and some rockinscriptions, about whichWilkins says, "... thosestrange writings are

Writing about theinscriptions, he furtheradds," I have myselfdiscovered some queerlinks between thesestrange letters of oldBrazil, and charactersfound in Tibet and VedicHindostan". (Page 118).

For example theinscriptions on the Ingastone of Brazil have beencompared to RongoRongo(the ancient script ofEaster island located in theSouth Pacific ocean) whichitself bears a close

traces the name 'Iriha' to India.

He states, "We now cometo the name of Irihia, andhere encounter twointeresting facts. In thefirst place we know that anold Sanskrit name for India was Vrihia, and no Maoricould pronounce this nameotherwise than as Irihia or

THE WORD 'ELEPHANT', ITS SANSKRIT SOURCE, AND THE CRESPI ARTIFACT COLLECTION OF PERU AND ECUADOR

English etymologicaldictionaries likeetymonline.com trace thesource of the word'elephant' to 'ibhah' (••),which is a Sanskrit wordmeaning 'elephant'. Theelephant-keeper is knownas 'ibhapa' (•••).

German linguist KurtSchildmann (1909-2005), inhis work, 'The SchildmannDecipherment', stated thathis research on ancientinscriptions discovered inPeru and Ecuador hadrevealed that they weresimilar to ancient IndusValley' inscriptions. He haddeciphered the inscriptions

Schildmann decoded thesecond word as 'alepi' andsaid that 'alepi' is Semiticfor 'elephant'. Though ifone were to decode thesecond line in reverse

A slight tweaking of thethree words 'pil', 'alepi' and'hosti', to 'pIt' (•••),'Alepa' (••••) and'hasti' (•••••), - changes themeaning to 'golden','smeared', 'elephant'. InSanskrit 'pIt' (•••) means'yellow' or 'gold', 'alepa'means 'smeared', and'hasti' is 'elephant'. Theinscription would thenread, 'gold smearedelephant' or 'the goldenelephant' - which probablyalso explains the 'sun'inscribed on the topsection of the artifact.

The author states thatthese 'Indo-Iranian' namesare of 'unknown origin'. Buteach one of these names

are words of the Sanskritlanguage and thereforeeasily explained, some ofthem are even mentionedas proper nouns in theIndian scriptures. The 18thand 19th century authoroften traced the names tothe ancient Iranianlanguage called Avestanbut never ventured furtherback in history with the

help of Sanskrit.

'Hari' (•••) is Sanskrit for'god' and 'hari' (••••••)means 'captivating'. God isreferred to as 'hara' inSanskrit in the sense asthe one who 'captivates'.

'Mandara' (••••••) means'heaven'. 'Mandara' is the

name of the mountain thatappears in the 'SamudraManthan' episode in theHindu Puranas, where itwas used as a churning rodto churn the ocean of milk.Vishnu's serpent, Vasuki,offered to serve as therope pulled on one side bya team of asuras, and onthe other, by a team of

devas.

'Ropa' (••• ) is Sanskrit for'act of raising', and'ropita' (•••••) means 'thatwhich is elevated' andtherefore indicates a'mountain'.

The river names areinteresting too. First of allthere is a 'Sindosa' river inthe Urals and is obviouslylinked to the 'Sindh' ofIndia. The 'Sindh' river orthe Indus gets its namefrom Lord 'Indra'. In theUrals too, there exist rivernames such as Indola andIndomanka.

Then there are the 'Striga'and the 'Svaga'. They areat once a reminder of theRiver Ganga of India, oreven of the Volga.. InSanskrit 'ganga' means'swift-goer'.

Russian historian andLinguist Nikolai Trubetzkoy(1890-1938), in his lectures

at the University of Vienna,traced the origins of thename 'Volga' to the Slavic'Jilga', which he said, incourse of time changed tothe name 'Volga'.

Roman Jakobson, Russianlinguist and literarytheorist, quoted NikolaiTrubetzkoy's research

thus, "In primitive easternSlavic, un-rounded frontvowels changed intorounded back vowelsbefore a tauto-syllabic 'l',so that 'jilga' must havechanged to julga; the initial'j' was lost before roundedvowels in eastern Slavic,and the initial u acquiredan obligatory 'v'. Thus the

form 'vulga' arose, and theshort 'u' changed in the12th–13th centuries into'o'. So through a longseries of changes Jilgabecame Volga".

Jilga is a close cognate ofthe Sanskrit 'jalaga',

'jala' (••) is water, 'ga'stems from the Sanskrit'gam' (•••) and indicates'movement' - so that 'julga'means 'flowing water'.

The name of the river'Pana' is explained by theSanskrit 'pana' (•••) whichmeans a 'drink'. The name'Arza' is explained by theword 'aarsha' (••••) whichmeans 'speech of thesages'; in fact the Vedasare also known as 'Aarsha'.The name 'Tara' isexplained by Sanskrit'tara' (••) which means'fluid'.

The name Hvarzentaseems to be derived fromthe Sanskrit

'varasha' (•••••) meaning'rain'. Another river inRussia by the name'Varzina' seems to have thesame etymological source.

The present day rivernames may also have theirsource in Sanskrit.

In his works, Max Vasmerstated that the toponym'Dvina' clearly cannot stem

from a language of the Uralregion, its origin is unclearand may have possiblyoriginated from an Indo-European root word whichused to mean river orstream. The word mayhence be related to theSanskrit root word'dhaav' (••••) which means'to flow'.

The etymology of 'Vytaka'is completely unknown. InSanskrit 'Vyatiga' (•••••••)means 'pass by'. TheSanskrit origins of 'Kama'are well known andexplains the name of theriver Kama. Finally thename 'Pecchora'- inSanskrit'Picchora' (••••••••) means

a 'pipe' and the Hindi'picchakari' (water-gun)derives from 'picchora'.

The Fibonacci Sequence isthe series of numberswhere the next number isfound by adding up the twonumbers before it. Forexample, the 3 in theseries is found by adding

the two numbers before it(1+2). If we take a numberin the series and divide itby the number preceding it,we find that as weprogress down the serieswe reach the perfect valueof phi= 1.6180339... and soon.

Pingala's 'Prastara-Meru' or 'Steps of Meru'.The triangle was later adopted byFibonacci in his work in Mathematicsfrom the original works of Pingala, the ancient Indian mathematician.
