Andalusia Middle School
Newsletter 3rd Trimester 2015-2016
Dear Andalusia Middle School Parents , This marks the end of 2015-2016 school year. I want to congratulate the class of 2016! I'm so proud of
each and everyone of you. No success or accomplishments in life come easy; we need to work hard for
it. For example, In the early days of Mecca, there were many problems and difficulties. At that time, a
guiding verse in the Qur'an was revealed. It said: "With every hardship there is ease, with every hard-
ship there is ease." (Qur'an 94:5-6) If there are problems, there are also opportunities. Turn a liability
into an asset with creative and resourceful thinking. Keep an open mind for the possibilities. Once
again congratulations and I love you all.

Sports Day 2016
On Thursday, June 2nd, Andalusia Middle School stu-
dents attended Sports Day at James L. Fleming Park in
the Nodine Hill neighborhood of Yonkers. Students
were blessed with a beautiful spring day, and took ad-
vantage of the weather by participating in their favorite
sports and outdoor activities. Later in the day, every-
one paused for a delicious lunch, but students were ea-
ger to resume their play before leaving for the day. To-
wards the end of the trip, students came together in a
collective effort to clean up the park, removing trash
and recyclables that had even been left by previous
guests. Overall, students expressed their love of the Sports Day experience, and insha-Allah
we will return next year for another fun day in the sun.
On Tuesday, May 10, Middle School students participated in Plant a Flower Day at Andalu-sia School. Alongside students from Elementary School and High School, our students worked hard to beautify the exterior of the Andalusia School building by planting flowers, vegeta-bles, and other plants. Even though students were paired with older and younger classmates, all were happy to work together to improve the appearance of our school. In just one day, students planted numerous potted plants and filled a garden. They certainly earned their green thumbs!
