Biography

A N D R B I S S O N V O C A L S / G U I T A R

For over a decade Andr Bisson has been performing his unique blend of R&B and

Soul throughout Canada, U.S.A., England, Wales and Ireland. After graduating from the

Applied Music Program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Bisson went on to record,

compose, and arrange six albums. The success of these award-winning albums has led

to several international tours, packed houses, sold-out concerts, and the chance to

open for esteemed artists such as Colin James, Jimmie Vaughan, Robben Ford and

Steven Page. Bisson was honoured to win the Male Vocalist of the Year award at the

2015 Hamilton Blues Music Awards as well as a nomination for Overseas Artist of the

Year from the British Blues Awards. This October 2016, Andre won the Road to

Memphis contest with the Grand River Blues Society to perform at the International

Blues Competition in Memphis in Jan/Feb 2017.

This multi-talented and multitasking vocalist, composer, songwriter, bandleader and

guitarist is quickly proving himself to be a force to be reckoned with on the Canadian

blues and roots scene. With the influences of Motown, Stax, big band, and gospel

music, Andr has composed repertoire of blues songs that reach orchestrations of up to

20 pieces. His 2015 release Left With The Blues further cemented his position as one

of the genres most talented and remarkable artists. The album was released to rave

reviews and extensive radio airplay around the world. Left With The Blues was

nominated for Blues Recording of the Year at the Hamilton Music Awards, reached # 1

on the Stingray blues charts, and received several placements on the !Earshot campus

and community radio charts throughout Canada and the Roots Music Report charts. As

one reviewer wrote, Bissons song writing talent shines on this magnificent album[it]

is an outstanding listen. (Phillycheeze's Rock and Blues Reviews) while another called

the album a soulful, tasty, rich offering. (Bmans Blues Report)

Andr Bisson and his various band formations are highly in demand for live music

venues, bars, private functions and corporate events. Bisson set out for a cross-

Canada tour this past summer and his 6th UK Tour this September.

With a title like Left With the Blues, thats what I was expecting to

pull from this batch of songs, but there is so much going on here I

was delighted as each track grabbed me and took on some really

cool, unexpected side trips. This is a perfect album. Written by John the Rock Doctor Kereiff

You might not get "One More Chance", so you'd better hurry to the

dance floor when this one comes on. This jazzy, swinger will surely

have everyone jumpin' to their feet. Matt on the drums and Brad,

possibly at discs best on the bass, are absolutely on fire here. So are

Francis and Loretta who's horn blowing are absolutely blowing me

away - be it on solos or in rhythm. Of course, with all this going on

behind him, Andre's sizzling on vocals and getting in a few strong

guitar licks. This is easily the discs best - or as I often call it - the
