QUOTES

“What a wonderful performance you put up in Zurich and Budapest! The audience, including me, simply loved it- the way you admirably presented the music and the original feelings embedded. You did place the Hong Kong flag in this part of Europe. Well done! My sincere congratulations to you.”

~Stephen Wong, Director of the Hong Kong SAR Government ETO, Berlin, 2011

“She is a very gifted young pianist with excellent virtuosity, brilliant technique and a fine sense of style. She is very musical. I strongly recommend her to pursue a music career and continue her education anywhere she chooses.”

~Nina Kogan, concert pianist and daughter of Leonid Kogan, Moscow Conservatory of Music

“When avant-garde composer John Cage first played it [Eric Satie’s “Vexations”] - using ten pianists in relay - it apparently offered blissful insights into the universe…. Sensitive to variation, we developed favourite performers: Michael Nyman was too aggressive; we admired the delicacy of Andrea Fan.” ~On the performance of Vexations to mark the 20th

Anniversary of Andy Warhol’s death, Tate

Modern Museum. Richard Goodwin, the Evening Standard, London

“I find her to be extremely talented, intelligent, and a sophisticated musician. Andrea is also a charming and artistic player and has a flair for performance and communication. Her approach to sound is both sensitive and controlled. She is a quick learner, very responsive but still always maintains her originality of thought. Andrea has enough technique to deal with any piano repertoire. All these qualities combined make me believe that Andrea Fan has a high potential to become a successful concert pianist. I hope that her potential will not be wasted but nurtured with appropriate care of the highest level.”

~Petras Geniusas, concert pianist,

Royal Academy of Music, Lithuanian Academy of Music

“Brilliant. That was brilliant, take another bow.”
