Hardware Cloth

Step 1:Preparing the Base:

Remove 3"-4" of existing sod and or dirt. Be sure to set a rough grade for drainage. If irrigation system is present cap and or remove sprinklers. Make sure all vegetation and roots are removed

Step 2:Base Fill:

You will need to lay 3"-4" off base, using road base, D.G., crushed gravel or a combination. Using a plate compactor, compact base to 90%. Be sure base surface is as level and smooth as possible. Create a slight grade for optimal drain-age. (For Pets: Spread a layer of Zeolite on top of the base at 1/2 lbs per sqft and compact) If you have Gopher problems you can also install our Hardware cloth in between the base. This will help prevent gophers from coming up through the Artificial turf.

Step 3:Position the Turf:

Before installing your Wildcat artificial turf, unroll your turf and allow to sit in the sun for approximately 2 hours. This will help the blades to stand up and the turf to be more pliable for a tight fit. Install Wildcat weed barrier on top of base. (see instructions on weed barrier installment) This helps prevent weeds from growing. You can use our Wildcat landscape Staples. Remove all dirt and debris from surface of weed barrier prior to turf installation. Lay turf on top of weed barrier and position where needed. When positioning, be sure to lay the turf pieces so the grain or direction of the blades on all pieces face in the same direction. This will help eliminate a patchy look and helps hide seams.

Step 4:Trim the Turf:

Using a razor knife, cut off salvage (the black and red part along the side of the turf) - 3 stitches from the side. Cut turf (cutting from the backside) to roughly fit in the desired area. It is a good idea to leave a bit of excess for any needed adjust-ments. This excess will be trimmed during final positioning.

Step 5:Securing the Turf:

Once the turf is laid out and roughly cut to fit is time to begin securing it to the base, making final fitting trims, and connect-ing the different sections.

Fit, Tighten & Secure the Turf:Fasten one end of the turf with Wildcat landscape staples or nails. Space 6" apart on edges. Stretch turf tight and fasten with nails as you move across to the opposite end. Trim any perimeter edges to fit. Place a nail every 6" along the perime-ter edge and every 12"-24" through the field. Be careful not to drive nails too deep, as this will cause dips and divots. Also, avoid any blades or thatch catching under the nail heads. If you need to seam two or more pieces together please see below.

How to Connect Turf Seams:Where two pieces of turf meet seaming tape can be used to secure the seams. You can seam together your artificial turf by using 6" Tamko under the artificial turf (tape should be sticky side up. Do not peel away liner). To apply seaming tape, apply tape lengthwise to the bottom of one side of the turf, leaving 3" stuck to turf and a 3" hang off. Secure opposite piece of turf to tape. Be sure seams are tight and precise, and that the grain of your turf is all facing in the same direction.

Step 6:Fill the Turf:

Once turf is tight and secure, power broom before infilling to get the blades standing up as much as possible. Spread infill onto turf using a drop spreader. If you don't have a spreader, shovel or wheelbarrows can be used. Just be sure to spread the infill as evenly as possible. It is recommended that you infill 2 to 3 pounds of sand per sqft. Apply infill as needed.

Step 7:Final Touch:

Once infill is complete, power broom to spread the infill around and work it into the turf. This will allow the sand to sink to the bottom of the artificial turf serving two purposes. 1. This will make the blades stand up. 2. The weight of the sand will also help hold the turf down and

in place. Broom as much as needed to work in the infill and get the blades standing straight up. Make it as even as possible. Once you are done it is optional to slightly spray your new artificial turf with water to remove any fine dust for a very nice clean look.

Installation

Western States Wholesale extends the following limited war-ranty on the Western States Wholesale synthetic turf fabricat-ed product (turf product only) to the original purchaser of the Turf Product only, subject to the conditions below. This limited warranty is effective for a period of eight years. The Turf Product will perform as specified when the sand fill system is applied and maintained correctly as specified in Western States Wholesale written instructions regarding installation.

Western States Wholesale further warrants the Turf Product fiber for eight years against (a) color fade in excess of 15 percent scale from the original color and (b) decreases in pile height in the finished Turf Product in excess of 50 percent from the original height. Color fading can be determined by examining the bottom portion of the fiber in relation to the top of the fiber. Since the bottom portion of the fiber is protected from the sun, a noticeable difference in color from top to bottom will be evident should the fiber fade. If the color of the Turf Product fiber in the finished Turf Product fades more than 15 percent or the pile height of the Turf Product fiber in the fin-ished Turf Product decreases more than 50% due to ultraviolet radiation degradation within the stated time period, Western States Wholesale will replace the affected portion of the fin-ished Turf Product with new Turf Product of equal quality on a prorated basis. This prorated schedule will be as follows:

The remedy of repair or replacement set forth herein shall be the only remedy. Western States Wholesale warrants only the construction of the fabricated surface fiber system of the Turf Product and since Western States Wholesale does not perform installations, we are not responsible for any instal-lation failures. Western States Wholesale's obligations under this warranty are restricted to the replacement of the affected areas covered herein.

Western States Wholesale shall have no other obligation or liability in any matter or thing, including without limitation, damages for personal injury or other damages of any type or kind. Failures resulting from the causes other than ultraviolet degradation of the face fiber yarn, such as excessive heat, improper installation, removal or reduction of the sand fill system level, chemical attack from adhesives, backing materi-als, cleaning agents, or any related causes are not covered by this warranty. Effects due to changes in texture resulting from application of sand, entrapped dirt, normal matting, and compression are expressly excluded from this warranty, as are any and all installation on stairs or angular sections where the sand fill system cannot be sustained, thereby exposing the entire length of the fiber to ultraviolet degradation.

Western States Wholesale makes no warranty of final applica-tion usage other than those stated herein or by specific written agreement, and any warranties, expressed or implied, except the warranty expressly stated above, are excluded.
