•The conventions of thrillers are that they use suspense, red herrings and cliff hangers extensively.

Two films that I think relate to our film are:

• The silence of the lambs (1991)

• Red Dragon (2002)

•Both of these films relate to our film as they are both thrillers and are about psychotic characters.

Outline of film:

A psychotic boy who is obsessed with a girl and goes to great lengths in order to be apart of her life, committing a crime, but is being challenged on the way by a powerful man.

• Powerful man walking to interview room

•Interviewer goes through his folder asking boy questions

• Shows boy a picture of a girl

• Finishes with a flashback of girl

•When doing our research we found out that our target audience was of the ages of 15-21 of both genders.

•The people we did research on were between these ages.

•The plot of the film suited the teenager to young adult perspective and these age groups could relate to the film the best.

•12/21 (over 50%) people like the opening to Saw in comparison to the other two films, Psycho and Hostel.

• This was an important factor as our target audience liked dramatic openings to films.

In our film there are four actors:

1. The interviewer- played by John Murphy

2. Rufus Stone- played by Anil Kapur (me)

3. Myra Collins- played by Harpreet

• We chose these actors as we thought these people could play the roles of these characters the best

• Two of these actors(me and Harpreet) are in our Media A/S class and John Murphy is a teacher in Harlington Community school.

An office

• The office was our choice as this was the perfect dark setting for an interview room that we needed for our film.

• This would make our film look more realistic and we could control factors such as lighting, props, colours etc.

The costume and props of Rufus Stone:

•Stray jacket/ belts around chest and stomach/chains around hands and body

•The costume and props used on the boy made him look dangerous and psychotic.

•Shot three is a low angle shot. This shot is important shot to get right in the film as it shows that the interviewer is a powerful person.

•Shot nine is a master shot of the two characters at the table. This is a significant shot as this shows the spatial relationship between the boy and the interviewer.

•Shot ten is a close up of the interviewer pressing the cassette player. This informs the audience that the interview is formal.

•Shot sixteen is a reaction shot of the interviewee. The psychotic boy gives away clues and shows weakness.
