Stan Smith works with the CIA, however Stan Smith is always on guard for terrorist activity. Stan goes as far as he can go to protect his family which he loves so much from danger and from getting hurt. Stan takes his job seriously and while dealing with family life and keeping his country (America) safe.

•American dad’s opening sequence starts with the main character (Stan) singing while he is getting ready to go work. As he is on his way to work they put a bit of humor in between that scene, where he is hugging his daughter and she puts a peace sign on his back, also he is introducing the family by hugging them whilst he is making his way to work.

•The story normally start with Stan Smith is always on guard for terrorist activity, and there is all different problem to solve.

•In the end they solve the problem and ends with the theme tune.
