PRESS KITSpring/Summer 2012
The unique
construction and design details of her
garments give the wearer a feeling of
confidence and individuality. Her purpose:
to solidify the sense of beauty and self-
expression of her clientele through her
commitment to great design.
Anna uses patternmaking as a systematic,
mathematic way to transform ideas into
material form, creating distinctive silhouettes.
In their most exaggerated form, her designs
are art on the body. Then, she manipulates her
original pieces into accessible, ready-to-wear
garments, while always maintaining her artis-
tic integrity.
Fascinated with the way culture impacts
fashion, she experiments with dierent social
trends, sensibly mixing them together in
unconventional ways. Her clever designs are
driven by cross-cultural exploration, the legacy
of historic silhouettes, and the power of the
female from.
Anna brings creative energy and freshness
to her work, sparking excitement and
enthusiasm from her younger audience.
She seamlessly blends her cutting-edge
concepts with sheer sophistication and
nuanced details – appealing to a more mature
customer base. As a stylist, illustrator, and
designer, Anna is constantly reinventing
herself as an artist – pushing the limits
of design and fabrication.

The Anna Hovet Spring/Summer 2012 is inspired by 1950’s female comic book characters. Never afraid to play with color, the designer uses bold colors and on-trend polka dots to represent the comic book dot printing process and 1950’s inspired silhouettes, empha-sizing v-shaped shoulders and natural waistlines.
The Anna Hovet Spring/Summer 2012 Collection line features a wide range of garment styles including reversible sweatshirts, feminine dresses, sporty windbreakers, a romper, multi-functional pants, and sexy leggings.
These garments are great for women who do not give up style for comfort. Every peice in the collection makes the wearer feel relaxed and fashion forward. These are very wearable clothes to have fun in all summer.
The collection will be available for wholesale orders until December 31, 2011 and will be in stores March 2012.

Anna Hovet Fall/Winter 2011 is a very classic approach to the edgy designs usually put out each season. Inspired by 1930s and 1980s ski-wear the collection has a tranquil vintage feeling. Design details include dolman sleeves, high collars, swing backs, and Hovet’s signature sporty hoods.
Pieces from the line include irty dresses, beautifully draped collared sweatshirts, and gorgeous wool winter coats. Combining stylish aesthetics and practical cold-weather garments, these peices are perfect for the trendy women on the go.
Anna Hovet is a delightful fusion of designer style and streetwear comfort that brings cutting-edge concepts and convertibility to sophisticated fashion.
Anna Hovet Fall/Winter 2011is currently selling online and in stores across the US.

AN ACTIVIST AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, Anna uses garments to raise public awareness about this important social issue. Her senior collection at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago was inspired by victims of and artwork addressing domestic violence. With the intention to raise community awareness of domestic violence, Anna designed this collection as art on the body rather than commercial garments. The raw emotion of the subject was carefully captured and expressed with: constrictive silhouettes symbolizing the victims’ feelings of entrapment, screenprinted newspaper articles of violent crimes, graphic images to provoke the viewer, and hand-painted text stating reasons why people stay in abusive relationships. The collection was very well received by SAIC faculty, students, and viewers including a Time Out Chicago
reporter who described the bodysuit as her
“favorite piece” of the show.
Anna has extended this collection into
ready-to-wear with her “Speak Out Hoodie”. A
portion of the proceeds from them go to the
Chicago Foundation for Women and other
domestic violence advocacy programs.

In its second year, Mario Make Me a Model sponsored by Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas teamed with the Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street to pair fresh new designers with the young models in training. Nearly 500 hopefuls responded to the casting calls wishing to be made over by Mario and to serve as the muse for the six designers currently in residence with the CFI.

cago Fashion Incubator - A City of Chicago sponsored

She has appeared on NBC "1st Look" and was a con-

Wanna Be A Designer". Her designs can be seen on
actress/singer Jennifer Hudson and have been
featured in several publications including Lucky
Magazine and the Chicago Tribune.
With a passion to add beautiful and interesting things to
the world, Anna Hovet moved from North Dakota to
Chicago in 2003. She attended the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago where she studied design, pattern-
making, illustration, and fine art, and earned her BFA.
Anna’s determination to be a well-rounded designer led
her to Chicago’s well-known store Akira, where she
worked as a stylist and fashion show coordinator while in
college. After graduating, she was hired by Kids Head-
quarters where she designed layette for Ecko, Calvin
Klein, Disney, and Target.
