PRELUDE INTRODUCTORY RITES
PROCESSIONAL Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones
SIGN OF THE CROSS PENITENTIAL ACT COLLECT
LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING IS 61:1-3A, 6A, 8B-9
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, To announce a year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God, to comfort all who mourn; To place on those who mourn in Zion a diadem instead of ashes, To give them oil of gladness in place of mourning, a glorious mantle instead of a listless spirit.
You yourselves shall be named priests of the LORD, ministers of our God shall you be called.
I will give them their recompense faithfully, a lasting covenant I will make with them. Their descendants shall be renowned among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; All who see them shall acknowledge them as a race the LORD has blessed.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM (Cantor first, then all)
SECOND READING The second reading will be read in Spanish.
PHIL 4:4-90
Rejoice in the Lord always.
I shall say it again: rejoice!
Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near.
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there
is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you.*
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Cantor first, then all)
JN 13:34
I give you a new commandment, says the Lord: love one another as I have loved you.
GOSPEL JN 15:9-171
As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will
remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another.
HOMILY PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL (Rx: Father, hear us!)
LITUGY OF THE EUCHARIST
CLICK HERE TO MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTION PREPARATION OF THE ALTAR Take, Lord Take, Lord, receive all my liberty. Take, Lord, receive all my memory. Take, Lord, receive my understanding. Take, Lord receive my will. Take, Lord, receive all I have to give. Take, Lord, receive all that I possess. All that I have has come from you, Lord. Now, I return it to you. Take, Lord, receive what is truly yours. Take, Lord, receive all this and more. Dispose of all that I have given according to your will. For your love and your grace are all that I need. For your love and your grace are enough for me, are enough for me, are enough for me. This selfless prayer, commonly called Suscipe (Latin for “receive”), is attributed to St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order. COMMUNION PROCESSION Gift of Finest Wheat
1. As when the shepherd calls his sheep, They know and heed his voice; So when you call your fam'ly, Lord, We follow and rejoice. 2. With joyful lips we sing to you Our praise and gratitude, That you should count us worthy, Lord, To share this heav'nly food. 3. Is not the cup we bless and share The blood of Christ outpoured? Do not one cup, one loaf, declare Our oneness in the Lord? 4. The myst'ry of your presence, Lord, No mortal tongue can tell: Whom all the world cannot contain Comes in our hearts to dwell. 5. You give yourself to us, O Lord; Then selfless let us be, To serve each other in your name In truth and charity. Text: Omer Westendorf, 1916-1998 Tune: BICENTENNIAL, CM with refrain; Robert E. English Translation: 1. Lord, take my new life before the wait wear years on me. I am willing to what you want, No matter what it is, Call me to serve. Chorus: Take me to the men and who are in need of your words, to those who need my will to live, take me where hope is lacking; where joy is missing; simply because they do not know You. 2. I give you my sincere heart to scream without fear your greatness, Lord. I will have my hands ready to work, your story on my lips and strength in prayer. 3. And so in the journey, I will go on singing throughout the streets preaching how beautiful your love is. Lord, I have a missionary soul, lead me to the land that thirsts for You!
