Large, bold title that stands out so its one of the first things that you see when you look at the front cover.

A website, so the audience reading the magazine can get in touch with the company of the magazine, the date that the magazine is issued so that the audience can see when the magazine was issued. Price and issue number is put on the front cover so the people buying the magazine can see how much the magazine is and how many magazines have actually been issued before.

Bar code, every magazine has this in either the bottom right corner or at the top of the magazine,

Positioning statement this is used to create an identity for the magazine and builds a picture in the readers mind before actually reading the magazine.

Main image was added in, I used the magnetic lasso tool as my main cutting out object, this helped me get right around the awkward areas I struggled to cut out. Using the polygonal lasso tool, I cut out other parts that weren't so tricky. I then used the smudge effect tool to get around the un-even edges of the image to smoothen it all out. I then used the red eye tool on the eyes so they looked more professional.

I added effects onto the main image, as it looked to dark, I lightened it up using the brightness and contrast buttons, and changed them to what looked best.

I added the main headline- which is in bold with effects and emboss, to make it stand out from all the other cover lines. As this is one of the main things you want your reader to look at, you want to intrigue them and make them want to buy it.

A red banner was placed at the bottom of the front cover, to separate it from the rest of the front cover, I would say that this is for the less important things that are included in the magazine.

These are the cover lines of the magazine, these are important to the magazine, because it shows the reader what is in the magazine without actually telling the reader about the story, it gives the reader an insight to the stories without giving to much away, this will make the reader want to buy the magazine to find out ‘why the Kooks are actually fading away’ and so on..

By adding the smaller stories in shows the reader what else will they get in the magazine rather than just the bigger stories.

I made changes to my magazine front cover, as I sat down and looked at my magazine, with a professional magazine and seen how I could improve my front cover, and used ideas from the professional magazine, and reflected my ideas off that.
