Dr. Trevor Gilkinson, mCPC, FACEP has been elected as the ~es~~~~t of +e: Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP). new CAEP Exec ‘i&t as elected at the 3rd International Conference on Emergency dicine in Toronto, tar*0 . Canada in dune of 1990. CAEP was established in 1978 by a small group of Emergency Phys a membership of over 400. Its mandate includes the promotion of emergency care, the fostering of research, co~tin~i~~ medical Llcatm?, alx! rhe r~prese~~at~o~of emergency physicians across the colan member of the Executive Committee since 1984. Trained at the University of Ottawa, Trevor Gilkinson practised in New ~e~~~~~ fol, 2 before returning to Canada and completing a residency in ~mer~e~c~ n’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He joined the staff at Victoria on, Ontario, in 1983. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dep edicine, University of Western Ontario. Along with his clinical practice, Dr. Gilkinson is actively involved as a te lecturer, and clinical researcher. Recent studies in which he has p~icipated at carbon monoxide poisoning as well as the emergency mjuries. In addition, he maintains an active interest in disa Dr. Gilkinson has served as an Emergency Medicine ex of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and maintains contact with this ~ro~ramm~ in his role as President of our association.
