The congress will be held in Kyoto in 1993, organized by the International Society for Radiation Oncology (ISRO). The scientific program of ICRO'93 will cover the progress being made in:
- All areas of radiation oncology - Radiation physics and biology for radiotherapy - Diagnostic imaging for radiotherapy - Interventional radiology devoted to cancer treatment - Radiotherapy combined with surgery, chemotherapy,
hyperthermia, chemical and biological response modifiers - Treatment with radionuclides - Medical engineering for radiotherapy, e.g. 3-D planning system,
picture archiving communication system (PACS), etc.
Four plenary lectures, 40 educational lectures and 22 symposia will be scheduled in parallel with free oral and poster presentations. Concurrent with the academic pesentation, the technical exhibition will be performed during the meeting. Many companies will demonstrate their new products and technology.
Kyoto is an old capital in Japan. There are more than 2000 temples and shrines with beautiful Japanese gardens. The organizing committee is taking every effort to make this congress a productive and memorable event for all participants.
