Students, the Library Moodle page is ready with all the links and passwords you will need

for electronic resources and more. All you need to do is click the All Courses tab, go to

High Schools, then Mandeville High. The access code is 1234. Any student who enrolls can

come to the library for a free piece of candy!

Student interested in auditioning for talented theater, art, or music should see Ms.

Windom in guidance for an application. The deadline to apply for an audition is Friday,

August 23rd.

Calling all Art kids. Art Club will meet starting this Wednesday in room 780 with Mr.

There will be a National Honor Society meeting Thursday at 7am in the

auditorium. Summer hours and $10 dues will be collected.

Peer tutoring will start this Wednesday at 2:26 in the library. If you need extra help in

your math class or any class join us in the library for tutoring. If you would like to be a

tutor please see Mrs. Bache in room 104.

Want to learn how to code and create your own video games? Free tuition is available to

10th-12th grade students. There will be an information meeting, Thursday August 22nd from

6:30-7:30 pm at Fontainebleau High School. Please see guidance for more information.

There is a 6-hour, 2 day ACT Prep Bootcamp in Covington on August 24 and September 7

Pelican Park will host one of the region’s largest events for job seekers, the 2019

Northshore Fall Fest Job Fair, on Thursday, October 3, 2019. This annual event will

be held at the Castine Center, 63350 Pelican Dr. in Mandeville from 1-5 p.m. and is

free to job seekers. The event includes 100 employers and over 2000 job openings. Juniors

and seniors of St. Tammany Parish Public Schools are invited to explore career and

training opportunities with local employers and training providers.

Congratulations to the Mandeville High Cheerleaders, who competed at the SCA Battle at

the Capitol on Saturday. The Cheerleaders won both the Varsity Game Day and Routine

Non-tumbling division. They also took home awards for best Band Chant and Best Cheer

out of all Varsity teams. Ansley Kavanaugh won the tumble-off for the high school division.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Pennies for Patients Fundraiser. We

raised over 3800 for cancer patients in our South Louisiana district, surpassing our goal

and last year's total by almost a thousand dollars.

Our top four winning classes are

3rd place- Ms. St Paul

4th place- Mr. Gold

We are holding an ACT Prep Bootcamp Saturday, March 7th from 9 to 12 in the school

There will be a free-stunt practice for those interested in trying out for cheerleading

Tuesday, February 18th from 3-5pm. The mandatory try-out meeting will follow in the

Congratulations to Mu Alpha Theta for placing 1st in Interschool at Brother Martin’s

competition last weekend. Conner Mitchell placed 2nd in Geometry Individual and Jackson

Barnes placed 2nd in Algebra II individual. Connor Mitchell, Jackson Barnes, and Sabrina

Stone placed 1st in Geometry/Algebra II team test, and Reza Najdi received honorable

mention for Calculus.

To continue our recognition of National Say Something Week, we would like to make

sure that we can all be on the lookout for signs that someone is struggling mentally or

emotionally. If you see any of these warning signs, please report it for the safety of that

person, yourself, or others around you. Someone demonstrating dramatic changes in

personality, appearance, attitude, or work ethic; giving away valuable possessions; suddenly

changing friend groups or becoming socially isolated; saying and doing things out-of-

character; or making threats either aloud or on social media. Reporting these concerning

behaviors can not only save one life, but potentially many more. Don’t be afraid to say

something. Please wear green Friday to raise awareness for Say Something Week.

Part of National Say Something Week is to ensure that all members of the school

community know the three steps to reporting potentially harmful behavior. Step one is

“Recognize warning signs.” Step two is “Act immediately, take it seriously.” Step three is

“Say something.” Following through with these steps is how you can become part of the

Bystander Revolution – strengthening our school community by reaching out to one another,

watching out for one another, and taking active steps to help one another. Please wear

green tomorrow, Friday, March 6, to raise awareness for Say Something Week.

interviewing and speaking skills, and learn strategies to highlight experiences for the
