Learn about the current best practices regarding spondylolysis, cervical cord neuropraxia, bachial plexus injuries and more. Presentation includes, actual athletic case studies treated by doctors of chiropractic. These cases were selected to provide attendees opportunities for realistic problem solving and will encompass areas of the CCSP ® educational program. Session 2 – FEBRUARY 8-9, 2014 | CL#2290 Extremity Adjusting: Assessment & Management of Extremities—Dr. Joel Dekanich The physical examination, assessment, rehabilitation, radiology and treatment protocol for athletic injuries of the extremities is presented. This session includes hands-on activities related to the assessment and treatment of extremity injuries. Session 3 – MARCH 8-9, 2014 | CL#2291 Emergency Procedures (mandatory attendance) — Dr. Robert Nelson The array of emergency situations that arise during athletic competition and from activities on the playing field. Hands-on training in “log rolling,” airway management, oxygen administration, application of hard cervical collars, and other emergency interventions. Session 4 - APRIL 5-6, 2014 | CL#2292 Correlated Case Studies — Dr. Dustin Nabhan Presentations of actual athletic case studies treated by doctors of chiropractic. These cases were selected to provide attendees opportunities for realistic problem solving and will encompass all areas of the CCSP ® educational program. This session includes hands-on activities with a focus on the chiropractic management of athletic injuries.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To be certificate-eligible, the following requirements must be met: Participants must complete a minimum of 100 class hours, possess a current Emergency First AId/CPR card, and pass the course examinations with a score of 75% or greater.

About the Program: Completion of the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) program leads to certificate eligibility, a status that allows participants to take the written examination administered by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The clinical expertise gained from this program increases inter- and intra-professional communication and facilitates expansion of the public perception of chiropractic.

This hybrid course includes in-person lectures that emphasizes hands-on activities and distance-based coursework that maximizes your learning investment and saves you time. The online coursework includes the following areas of study:
