Status:- Volunteers strength - 26500 Units strength - 530 (69 dysfunctional units are withdrawn and applications are invited from new colleges through open advertisement)

Regular - 347 units Special - 254 units OPA- 244 Programme Officers.

The Advisory Committee Meeting was held on 26.07.11 in Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Prof. (Dr.) Nihar Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman,CHSE. The budget and action plan for the year-2011-12 was approved.

Plantation :-

706 units of blood were collected in different colleges.

Volunteers helped in Pulse Polio Program for 2810 children.

6000 saplings were planted in special & regular camping program.

NSS Bureau is a vibrant wing of CHSE. We have been focusing on innovative programmes for community.

+2 NSS Bureau is performing well in the state of Odisha. It is acting as a catalyst in changing the personality & leadership quallities of students.

The NSS Bureau of CHSE may keep the motto “Service to mankind is service to God” and accordingly the volunteer should act.

Launching of NSS website & Preparation to introduce online payment- two adminstrative measures taken by CHSE are highly praiseworthy.

The +2 NSS Bureau is rightly nuturing voluntieerism in a democratic way.

As the biggest NSS Bureau, CHSE has proved pioneerism in all aspects.

Observance Of Different Days & Weeks.

=Independence Day was observed on 15.08.2011 in which 50 No. of Male volunteers & 03 No. of P.O.s of the local institutions participated. Activities like flag hoisting, discussion, campus cleaning and cultural programmes were organised.

=Pre-Republic Day selection camp at CHSE(O) level was held on 15.09.2011 in which 38 No. of Volunteers participated successfully.

=State NSS Day were organized by NSS R.C, Bhubaneswar. 700 volunteers from CHSE participated in the programme.

=03 Female & 15 Male volunteers participated in the State level selection camp for Pre-Republic Parade held at Utkal University, Vani Vihar, from 16.09.11 to 17.09.2011.

=Vigilance awareness week was observed on 31.10.11in CHSE, Odisha, Bhubaneswar in which 100 No. of CHSE(O) employees and 50 No. of NSS volunteers participated.

=150 volunteers participated in National Peace Rally on 07.02.12 at Bhubaneswar on the occasion of birth day of Sri Subba Rao organized by NYP.

Flood Camps

24 NSS units have undertaken various activities in

post flood operation by organizing special

camping programme during September &

October-2011. 600 volunteers have been

deployed in 107 flood affected villages of 23

blocks in 07 districts. A separate flood camp

report was published and distributed to different

corners.

Jail Reform Programme

100 volunteers of local colleges have

participated in Jail Reform Special Camping

Programme in Biju Pattnaik Open Air Jail,

Jamujhari, Khurda from 01.07.11 to 07.07.11

organised by Sarat Paikray Mahavidylaya,

Aragul, Khurda.

Mega Camps in Mela & Yatra

=100 volunteers were engaged in Rathyatra Special

Camp-2011 in Puri (S.C.S.Jr.Col lege) ,

Baripada(M.P.C.Jr.College) & Saratpal, nd th(Saratpal College) from 2 to 8 July,2011.

=50 Female volunteers participated in Baliyatra

camp at Cuttack organized by B.M.M.Women's

College, Thoriasahi from 10.11.11 to 16.11.11.

=100 volunteers attended Dhanuyatra camp at

Bargarh from 03.01.12 to 09.01.12 organised by

T.F. College.

=50 volunteers attended Olasuni Mela camp

organised by M.P. Mahavidyalaya, Erkona and th th

Haladia College at Olasuni from 18 24

Services has inaugurated the NSS

website on 03.12.11. It is the first

attempt of Odisha, NSS made by

Council.

Training & Skill Development:

128 NSS P.Os have undergone NSS Orientation

Programme at ETI, OUAT, Bhubaneswar during this

financial year.

8 P.Os successfully participated in TOT program on

Social Harmony & National Unity held at Farmers th stHostel, OUAT, Bhubaneswar from 17 to 21

July,2011 organised by RGNIYD in collaboration

with NSS Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar.

An Induction programme for the Principals &

Programme Officers of newly allotted NSS units was

held in the CHSE(O) Conference Hall, Bhubaneswar

on 30.09.2011 in which 20 No. of Principals & 31 No.

of Programme Officers participated.

Regional level training programme for NSS

programme Officers on Disaster Preparedness was

organised by “SUPRATIVA” at CYSD, Bhubaneswar 5 Pos has attended the camp.

Vigyan Jyoti

50 no. of volunteers participated in the meeting held in KIIT University

Bhubaneswar and 100 volunteers participated in F.M.University,Balasore thin connection with the Vigyan Jyoti and 99 Indian Science Congress and

welcomed Vigyan Jyoti during last week of December-2012.

State level Brain storming programme on preparation of NSS action

plan was held on 05.03.12 in the CHSE(O) Conference Hall in which 15

no. of Principals & 45 no. of programme officers participated.

Cultural Programmes by volunteers

Expenditure Pattern:Refreshment- 60%= Rs. 5160/- Travel- 25% = Rs. 2150/-Implements- 10% = Rs. 860/- Miscellaneous- 5%= Rs. 430/-

Regular Grant:One unit (50 volunteers) is entitled Rs. 8600/- p.a.

Special Grant:One unit (25 volunteers) is entitled Rs. 11,250/-

Out of Pocket Allowance:Rs. 200/- per month to P.O. (Subject to organisation of both regular activities and special camp in a year).

Supervision & Monitoring of Units / Camps

The Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary & Programme

Coordinator have visited maximum number of units. This

year the Bureau has deployed district level Programme

Officers, Ex-Programme Officers to visit local camps for

proper monitoring.

NSS Review

Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, IAS, Commissioner-Cum-

Secretary to Govt. has taken a review on NSS

activities of the Bureau while visiting to Council on

23.02.12.

NSS Award.

Dr. Smt. Rajani Ransingh, P.O, S.B.D.Women's

College, Kantia, Dist:Khurda, Dr. Debasis Patra, P.O,

Malkangiri Science College, Malkangiri, Miss.

Monalish Routray, Volunteer, S.B.D.Women's College,

Kantia have been awarded CHSE level NSS awards on

07.09.12. The NSS unit of Jaleswar Women's College,

Jaleswar is given the unit of excellence award specially

by the Chairman for its alround activities.

Participation In National Integration Camp.

05 Male & 05 Female NSS volunteers under the leadership of

Sri Ratnakar Singha, P.O.NSS of Balangi Mahavidyalaya,

Sunhat, Dist:Balasore have successfully participated in the

National Integration Camp held at Rani Durgabati

University, Jabalpur (MP) from 04.05.2011 to 10.05.2011.
