Special Meeting of the Development Assessment Panel The Town of Walkerville Council Development Assessment Panel will hold a Special Meeting on Monday 24 July 2017

The Town of Walkerville Development Assessment Panel (DAP) are convening a Special Meeting in the Council Chambers of the Civic Centre at 66 Walkerville Terrace, Gilberton on Monday 24 July 2017 at 5.30pm to consider amended plans and details associated with the reasons for deferral of the below application:

• DA 200/224/16 - Demolition of existing structures and construction of an integrated service station complex including fast food outlet, car parking, signage, a 3 metre high acoustic boundary fencing along the south eastern boundary and landscaping at 68 – 72 North East Road, Walkerville

Any person or body affected may make relevant representations in writing concerning this application. Representations must reach the Chief Executive Officer not later than 11.59pm on Friday 14 July 2017.

The Town of Walkerville is calling for tenders in respect of the provision of general communications, event coordination and marketing services.

Successful Tenderers will form part of the Communications and Marketing Panel of contractors engaged by the Town of Walkerville to provide those services.

O-Bahn City Access Project - Linear Park reopens to cyclists and pedestrians

The River Torrens Linear Park paths underneath Hackney Bridge reopened on Monday 3 July, following major construction works on the two bridges over the River Torrens.

Major construction works to widen the Hackney Bridge to create a dedicated bus lane, freeing up more space for other vehicles, forced the closure of the Linear Park paths for the safety and welfare of cyclists and pedestrians.

The path closure also enabled the construction of a new shared use pedestrian and cycling bridge over the River Torrens which will link to a new dedicated path on the western side of Hackney Road between Bundeys and Botanic Roads. The new shared use pedestrian and cycling bridge is set to open in coming weeks.

Lansdowne Terrace Stormwater and Road Upgrade Project

Street Meeting 2 on this Saturday

Council staff will be set up near Levi Oval to speak to residents about this important project. It is a great opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed designs and staff will be on hand to answer questions in relation to the project.

Council staff will be present between 10am and midday on Saturday 08 July 2017

Feedback forms are available on the day or at the Civic Centre up until the 26 July 2017.

Gilberton Embankment Update

Detailed soil analysis underway

Council staff have meet with SA Water officials this weeks in relation to the embankment stability concern at the Gilberton Boardwalk. Further soil sampling has been conducted and laboratory test results are expected in the coming weeks. This soil analysis will be used to develop a solution for the site. SA Water are leading this remediation project with Council staff providing support where possible.

Gilberton Swing Bridge Update

Tender for construction to close on Monday 10 July 2017

NPSP have advised Council officers that the new tender for the Swing bridge refurbishment will close on Monday 10 July 2017 at 2pm. It is expected that it will take approximately 3 weeks to conduct evaluations and recommend a preferred contractor for appointment.

The tender has requested timeframes for construction and this will be communicated to the community once a contractor has been appointed.
