PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Name It, Claim It, Aim It - Strengths Assessment
This interactive professional development session will allow participants an opportunity for self-discovery utilizing the CliftonStrengths Assessment. Moreover, participants will learn how to put their strengths to work as policy administrators.
Brenda Meyer, Director of Policy and Staff Enhancement NorthWest Arkansas Community College As a certified Clifton Strengths Coach, Brenda has taken hundreds of campus and community members through the strengths discovery process to help individuals “do what they do best every day” and facilitate more productive, efficient teams.
Participation in this professional development activity requires completing a pre-conference assessment. When you register, please indicate “yes” or “no” in relation to your participation in this session. A link to the assessment will be sent three weeks prior to the conference.
KEYNOTE ADDRESS: Strategies for the Strong
The work of policy development and implementation can be demanding and difficult, filled with the challenges that come with working with people and their divergent expectations. In this type of work the stress can weaken you over time and may negatively impact your ability to stay strong and healthy for the long haul. In this session you will learn practical strategies to manage the stress reactions that may accompany this work. You will also explore practices for building resilience in the most important areas of your life – physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual.
Timothy Denney, MS, Principal Trainer and Consultant Level 5 Services, Crookston, Minn.
A graduate of Biola University in the far-distant past and more recently Fresno State University, Denney has worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, training director and administrative staff member at Northwestern Mental Health in Crookston, Minn. Other jobs include directing a non-profit organization, ministry professional, rock climbing instructor, wilderness guide, and personal security professional. Started by Denney in 2016, Level 5 Services is a premium provider of training, facilitation, and consultation services in the upper Midwest region. Level 5 Services serves the health
care, social service, law enforcement, faith-based, and education sectors with high-quality products and services.
