Briarwood Community Association
Proposed pathway on 8th Street between Boychuk & Briargate
Formal request made 2017 to CoS Transportation Division Rationale
Increased traffic flows from Brighton and COSTCO (50-75 fold) Safety issues in:
No walking, skateboarding, cycling pathway along this section of 8th to complete Briarwood trail system (600m)
Dangerous eastward 2->1 lane transition from Boychuk Bus route (thus eligible for PTIF funding for sidewalk funding)
Decision is pending: additional investigation/study AND consideration of overall master plan for 8th street due to Growth Plan for the CoS.

• BCA investigating cost of having power supply brought to rink location rather than purchasing power from a resident and running long extension cords
• Landscaping/partial leveling of rink footprint on ball diamond and outfield would result in less ice buildup. Ice ranged in depth from 3 inches (8 cm) to over 1 foot (30 cm)
