Siddharth N (Unit secretary ) and Tara Vellara (Unit Designee) , students of SOA-DSATM have attended the 58th Annual NASA Convention from 30th January to 5th February.

Following are the achievements:-

Received the first Observer Status

certificate of SOA-DSATM under NASA

India.

Attended a number of workshops and

received the respective certificates.

Siddharth N was felicitated as the First

Unit Secretary of SOA-DSATM .

Tara Vellara was sworn in

as the next Unit Secretary

of SOA – DSATM.

Design Trophies

1. HUDCO Trophy – this trophy gives the designer the freedom to explore and put forward his ideas in the field of housing.

2. GSEN Trophy- trophy based on urban planning and how to tackle urbanization issues .

3. WOC Trophy- a research trophy on the works of a famous craftsmen.

4. Louis Kahn Trophy – a trophy to commemorate the works and contribution of Louis Kahn in the field of architecture.

5. Landscape Trophy- a trophy for designing new landscape methodologies and their effects on design.

STUDENTS NOTE

• The workshops was a wonderful experience , one which taught us to tackle designs from a whole new perspective . It also taught us leadership qualities how one could work as a group and attain the impossible.

• The talks by a number of guest speakers from across the world was very inspirational and let us to think and analyze architecture from different perspectives

• This convention also gave us a chance to be a part of the NASAIndia council elections and attend their meetings giving us an insight as to how the world biggest student body organization works

• On the whole , it was a very educative trip which taught or rather has guided us to be tomorrows best Architects .
