Welcome to the 13th annual Open Studio Tour!
This year the summer tour weekends return on July 16–17 and August 20–21, bringing with it a renewed artistic spirit unique to the South Coast communities of Dartmouth and Westport, MA, and Tiverton and Little Compton, RI. Our coastal region of New England is where you can find fresh perspectives and beautiful landscapes, a relaxed place where self-expression is the way of life.

There are also noted artisan chefs, eateries and markets across the region, where sourcing products from our sea waters and farmlands is important. Best of ShowSarah BenhamIzzy Finbow, Oil on Canvas, 24 x 18” This painting is a beautiful balance of representation and abstraction. The figure is welcoming and evocative. It has a sense of emotion and asks me to invent narratives. The color contrasts and brush work are bold, and the composition is full of subtle movement and energy.
Second Place Jill LawSearching for Shells, Acrylic on Canvas, 48 x 48” I love the bold and energetic surface. The colors read well from a distance, but reward closer inspection with surprising contrasts and under painting. The brushwork is exciting and also controlled. It is a balanced composition.
Third Place Susan StraussThe Speed of Summer, Oil on Panel 40 x 36” This is painterly, abstract and energetic, but also illustrative and landscapey. It is a riot of colors, but overall calm and reassuring.
