KEYWORDS RELATIVESTO THE STRATEGIES

TRIENNIO2005-2007

2005-2007THREE-YEARPERIOD

INTERVENTIVERTICALI

Starting with the actual needs of the population in order to find the most suitable solutions: this is the basic premise of our operations in Africa. As a result, we are committed to promoting research activities in order to understand the operational environment and to offer increasingly innovative services that are adaptable to the continual changes inherent in these environments.

These involve operations targeted major diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. These operations are always included within a “platform” of structured activities, in accordance with the strategic policies of Doctors with Africa Cuamm.

In each country and for each project, particular care must be allocated to the monitoring, assessment and reporting of projects.

Page 8: Annual Report 2007

These refer to stable and long-lasting operations. This is the priority activity of Doctors with Africa Cuamm, confirming a traditional model of distribution based on hospital and territorial activities - primarily located in rural areas - which is strongly integrated within the healthcare and social system of an area and is part of a policy involving the communication and research of common strategies with public authorities and/or with local religious institutions.

This is our model of preference, involving a district hospital and a network of peripheral healthcare structures that offer prevention and care. Doctors with Africa Cuamm is involved in the strengthening and improvement of periphery services, the areas which are most easily accessed by the poorest strata of the population.

They are projects for some of the largest area of health (education, maternal and child care, disability).

These are the two principles - access to healthcare services and an equitable distribution of care - which we intend to rigorously apply in all of our activities and operations.

During the course of its history, Doctors with Africa Cuamm has been committed to bringing aid to populations afflicted by catastrophes, war and humanitarian crises in order to combine immediate aid operations with longer-term programs.

In Africa, the battle against AIDS is a priority. Doctors with Africa Cuamm is committed to initiating - in almost all of its countries of operation – projects to combat AIDS.

PIATTAFORMAIndica interventi stabili e duraturi.

In Africa, la lotta all’Aids è prioritaria.
