Opportunity doesn’t come knocking at the door! It

presents itself when you beat Down the door!!

If one wonders that these are the themes of our presidents, its only a mere co-incidence that I used these words to elucidate the kind of - dedication, hard work, extensive travelling our floor members went through in making the 51st & 44 NATIONAL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of RTI and L C India a great hit! True. When the floor gave its nod to co-host a MEGA event like this, little did we know the kind of pressures we might have to go through in making it a BIG success! Our eyes were glued to only making FRIENDS…. FRIENDS and FRIENDS across the country!!! But what followed was very close to a “Business Project” in making….. Allocation of portfolios, Number-driven Targets, Behind the shoulder follow-ups, Countless Meetings, Re-working of Budgets – truly a “Catch 22” at many occasions!! But ultimately the end-result was pure “FUN & FELLOWSHIP” with a confidence that “We Can & We Will”. The D-day saw a great ambience, flawless execution of responsibilities (well within our budget)! Every floor member of the table was true to their heart in giving their BEST while coordinating with our parent table, Erode RT 98! The details of the portfolios handled by the floor tablers are listed below:

Friends, I would fail in my duty if I fail to mention the great responsibility of leading the show was taken-up by our mentor, Sq.Lg. Sivabal who was consistently guiding us all way through. Thank you Anna!! And all the 41ers family of Erode, who were there shoulder to shoulder on the great day – HELPING US and making us feel as one Big Family!! I am sure, we have definitely made our sponsor table and our co-host Erode RT 98, feel proud!!!

Friends, it is more rewarding to watch money changing the world rather than watching it to

accumulate! Though we are just three years old – a crawling infant in the field of fundraising,

the spice men enriched their kitty with Rs. 20000 pooled in by way of Movie Fund Raiser (Rs.

13000) & commission earned via sweets sale (Rs. 7000) of our parent table. With my good

friend Dharma heading the said activity for the forth coming year, the table expects to

strengthen its stand in the months to come!

As a part of the publicity drive, around 30 school buses were stuck

with our exclusively designed “GO – GREEN” stickers, stressing the

importance of safe guarding the environment. This initiative was

well received by the people from all walks of life, paving way to

know about ROUND TABLE INDIA and its activities!

Women Basketball Tournament held in VOC Park, Erode on April 05, 06, 07 - 2013.

AAddiieeuuss …….. Dear Tablers, Circlers, Sq legs of Area 7 & friends, It’s my honor to retire as a Tabler of ESRT 211 on this gracious occasion. This is a proud moment for me and my family to bow out of the tabling activity on official terms. But would still continue to be a life-time tabler of ESRT 211.I express this feeling of mine because of the bonding myself and my family had with my fellow tablers in every facet of tabling. It’s like a dream to be a Charter Chairman of this highly energetic and vibrant table. It’s a privilege & honor to retire not only as a tabler but as IPC too. My Tabling career is so great that even though the life of tabling is just 2 ½ years from the date of inauguration, I made friends for my life. The moments of fellowship among this table and our parent table ERT 98 is such that, I did not feel that we two are different tables altogether. Pre-charter and post Inauguration period is bliss. Particularly Sq. Lg M K Sivabal contribution in organizing me as a leader of my table is phenomenal. Whole heartedly I thank Sq. Lg M K Sivabal for his influence in my carrier as a Tabler / Charter chairman. Each and every bit of Area 7 events and national events attended by me with my fellow tablers is so green in my heart and that will remain so in my entire life. Those are UNFORGETTABLE Moments. At this great occasion I take the privilege of thanking all the tablers, circlers and Sq. Legs in ESRT 211 & ERT 98 who have done wonders for me and my family. AA SSeeccoonndd HHoommeeccoommiinngg ……....

It was a pleasant surprise when the incoming Chairman of the table, Tr. Krishna wished to have me on board as the Honorary Tabler for the year 2012-13 - a HONOR being bestowed even before I could enjoy that at my table!! Friends, as the then Chairman of the sponsor table, I had been closely associated with the every single step in the formation of Erode Spice RT 211. So knowing you guys personally was indeed an added advantage! But what I witnessed this entire year was truly amazing! Not a day had passed without feeling the warmth of my young friends. At this occasion, I think it’s my duty to register my views on the happenings that really shook me off:

I was first wonderstruck at the way you people carried on at the very first business meeting.

Every convener came prepared with their plans for the year, discussed their possibilities and

adopted the same - AAMMAAZZIINNGG

For relatively a newer table, committing itself to co-host the National AGM is a mammoth

task. But over and above you guys had achieved a record break of almost Rs. 12 lacs on

various projects during the year! – RREEMMAARRKKAABBLLEE

“Commitment”, if there was one act to explain this word, I would surely point out to the

dedication, you people showed in attending the meetings, taking-up the responsibilities and

of course delivering in style!. Yes friends, I am meaning the commitment level shown by you

all at the National AGM – Wannacome 2012, co-hosted by the table. You people definitely

gave a run for many of the seasoned tables! - FFAABBUULLOOUUSS

211 is known for its committee meetings…. Fun. Fun and non-stop bonding! This year too,

you guys made it a point to show your might at your stronghold. I vividly recollect the

amount of fun and fellowship experienced at various socials, though I happened to miss out

a few due to my personal obligations – IINNCCRREEDDIIBBLLEE

Last, but most important – HOSPITALITY. Yes. I had experienced it and I wish to share it!! I

clearly remember that it was you guys who chauffeured me for my retirement to

Mettupalayam and it is again you guys who got me all the way to Pondy for the AGM. I doubt

how many would be lucky enough for this honor – GGRREEAATT FFRRIIEENNDDSS..

As in life, CHANGE IS CONSTANT in tabling arena too! For CHANGE alone brings success! As a responsible person, it is important to realize its importance and IINNSSPPIIRREE TTHHEE CCHHAANNGGEE. I had loved every moment of my short stay at your table and its time to move on. These lovely moments would always be cherished by me, earning a special place in my heart! YUMMY TUMMY –

Mrs. Priya Sathyasaran

“ The best way to enter into a man‟s

heart is through his stomach”… We the ladies of

„211 would like to test it...

Our contest eagerness in trying out new dishes in

kitchen urged us to arrange for the cookery

session of continental foods.

The credit goes to Kirthika for organizing the

session. It was fixed on 13th August.

The venue was graciously donated to us by

Mr.Kavin to hold our session in his restaurant,

„Olives and Basils‟.

Unanimously we decided to have the session on

“soups and salads”

It was a spectacular morning that we all

assembled at 11am.

Kirthika, Priya, Yalini, Dharini, Anitha, Sudha,

Latha were the ladies involved in the session.

Astoundingly the hall was ready, Chief. Kavin

and Chief. Anand played a large role in

demonstrating the preparations of continental

soups and salads by having their staff help with

set up.

The preparations of corn soup, Tomato soup,

Ceasar salad, may organize were demonstrated.

Recipes for many other soups and salads were

given.

We also learnt about the amazing facts of olive

oil and the herbs used.

We were to stay close to the table as it was very

interesting and fun as our ladies passed

comments and by staring our own cooking

experiences.

Each item was passed on for tasting…

It was all Yummy…

That filled our Tummy…

Oops….

It was 2 ….

Time to back home too...

Awaiting for the next session…

Not only to learn...

But to have more fun...

IF GANDHI WERE

TODAY

Mrs. Priya Sathyasaran

On this day of remembering

Gandhiji let us not restrict ourselves to wearing kadhi,

praising him, garlanding his statues or join the bajans and

chant Ragupathy Ragava raja ram and call it a day...

He is more needed today rather than those days when he

walked around in flesh and bone. Now his need and guidance

is felt more all over the world……

He may be a symbol of ''Angry youth''. But Gandhi led all

struggles against injustice, fight for democracy, struggle

against apartheid, resistance to greedy capitalism, mass

against nuke and dictatorship. East or west, capitalist city or

Islamic desert, Gandhi inspire and lead people...

Let it be the prison cell of Aung Sang Suki in Myanmar or

lonely cell of Nelson Mandela, it was Gandhi who gave the

spirit to face Injustice.......

It was both Jesus Christ and Gandhi who gave the moral

support to Martin Luther King to fight against color

discrimination...

Green Peace boat against Nuclear Warship or the

headquarters of German Green Party holds Gandhi in their

fight against greedy development......

Let us think what HE would have done against all injustices

around us- 2G,Coalgate,Idinthakarai,corrupt government

offices educational malls Pick up garbage, Save energy...

You Try

Be a Gandhi for a while

GUNS may Fail...

Gandhi will Win

Happy Gandhi Jayanthi

PPOOTT LLUUCCKK by Mrs. Kirthika Shivkumar

Yes, it's now the time for the ladies of ESRT 211 to share the gala had during our potluck. It was

organized by Mrs. Priya Sathya on 23rd July 2012. The venue was my residence !!

The first one to knock in was Priya followed by Latha and then came Shalu, Rohini, Dharshini, Anita,

Revathi, Dharani, Yalini, Sutha and Akalya. In spite of our daily routine, this day boosted us with fun

filled chit chats and plans for our next get together. Every one brought their preparations to the

table and sharing made the best of it! Special thanks to Mrs. Pradeepa Sudhakar, Shalu Kishore who

has sent the delicious food even though they couldn't make out. Yeah, it's now time for slurrpp...

hand full of delicious yummy food prepared by our beautiful young ladies of ESRT 211. Had different

varieties of vegetarian and non vegetarian food which added special flavor for the gathering and the

best topping for the day was full fun!!!!!!

I thank everyone who made the day a cherishing one!

RTI WEEK ACTIVITIES by c. babu

Being just three years old and having already co-bided for the 51st NAGM – Wannacome, the initial hiccups to celebrate the RTI Week, in our usual style was clearly thumbed down, when our VC “Tr. Beauty Mohan” volunteered to mantle the activities!!! Needless to say - under his wise convenership, we only landed breaking our previous records!! Be it comradeship or the projects, we rocked this year too. A peep into the same: 20th November 2012:

The week kick started with Blood donation camp organized jointly with ERT 98 / ELC 78 / 41ers Club of Erode 63 @ 9:30am in Lions Club of Erode Supreme Blood bank and donated 21 units of precious blood (thanks to our Chair – Krishna, for his timely advice the previous night) .It was followed by Dinner Sponsored to 45 Orphanages in Venkateshwara Orphanage in Thindal @ 7:30pm Cakes, Sweets & Sketch pens too were distributed to them.

22nd November 2012:

With Area VII, “Go Green” convener Tr. Ravi hailing from our table, we had the pleasure of planting 25 saplings in and around Thindal. Not only we had just the planting celebrations, but saw to that the steps are taken to nurture them too. And post the plantation and a steaming cup of tea (courtesy our beloved Chairman), we headed to Thiyagi Eswaran old age home @ 5:30pm were donated with a Emergency light, orch light, water cans & Eatables.

23rd November 2012:

7 Hoardings displayed as part of Publicity at prominent places of Erode Town Lightening Freedom through Education & RTI for 10 days.

24th November 2012:

“PROJECT HYGIENE” was the highlight of this year’s celebrations, when we renovated and provided toilet facilities to seven different Panchayat schools in and around Erode worth Rs. 36,000 plus contribution from Our Tr. Beauty Mohan Rs. 11,000. It was truly a marathon race on the single day, as all these were opened at a single stretch!!

In addition to the above, we had the pleasure of providing –

- Play equipments to the children of two different Panchayat schools worth Rs. 70,000 donated by our Tr. Shivkumar.

- Donation of Stationeries, Cakes, Biscuits, Chocolates to 45 Students of the Apex Deaf & Dumb School

- Sticking go-green publicity stickers on different school busses etc.,

RTI Week celebrations imbibe in us a sense of deep satisfaction and a reminder about our commitment to the society. With this contentment, we had NFD Joint Meet with ERT 98 and our Area Chairman Tr. Dr. Anand also joined with us for the meeting followed by a social hosted by Tablers of both ESRT 211 & ERT 98@ 7:30pm in Oasis, Erode. We all together with twinklers had a gala dinner with some twinkler activity being conducted during the Social by the People, Management Forum from Bangalore and had some entertainment games with Trs & Ladies marking the closure of the celebrations….

FFeelllloowwsshhiipp XXpprreessss bbyy TTrr..SS..MMoohhaannrraajj The year 12-13 will always remain in spicens memory for more reasons than one. We were co. Host to 51st

NAGM of RTI & 46 of LCI, our 1st FTE project was inaugurated, joint NAGM project to the tune of 1 Cr

was commissioned and not to forget the social frenzy our table went into……

I am fortunate to be a witness to the amazing no. of socials & bonding we shared this year. As a

secretary, it was a pleasure recording these. We had close to 30 socials (excluding get together of

tablers less than 10) I would like to share few of the more memorable once….

CCOOCCOO SSppiiccee:: Two youngest table of area 7 along with PRT 81 joined together for one of the best social of the

year. The social will stand out for the warmth & hospitality of PRT-226, the beer drinking competition &

the kuchipudi competition. Not to be left behind the ladies had games and drawing competition for the

kids.

PPAARRKK PPLLAAZZAA::

Plant trees save planet 44

If not for anything, this will be remembered for the sergenting of Tr. Charan & Tr. Anand of our

parent table, who had everybody on the toes & confused. The party went on till the Dj & service staff

got tried though our legs had just warmed up. Kids & ladies too had lovely time in the Dance floor & in

the pool the following morning.

NNAAMMMMAA SSoocciiaall:: Two stalwarts got together to host this memorable social. There will be remembered for the

ambience, the arrangement, the spread of food & the warmth of Apexian Senguttuvan, HT. Seeni & thier

family. They left no stone unturned to make us all feel comfortable and have loads of fun. It was also

the day Erode witnessed rainfall after the soaring heat of summer.

WWiilldd RRoocckk RREESSOORRTT:: This place was just out of the dreams. A towering 160 mts rock on one side, mountain filled with

greenery on the other & the place overlooking a beautiful dam, the drive was worth every bit for the

location alone .But icing on the cake was the social with PSRT-158, the Trs were friendly, jovial and we

returned richer with new friends and promises to make this a annual event.

BBiikkeerr && BBuutttteerr:: Three table social, ERT 98, KRT 138 & ESRT 211. This was the retirement social of our

Charter Chairman HT Mahendran & that of Tr. Senthil of KRT 138. This was also 4th anniversary of our

charter day. Cake was cut to mark the celebration of all this and more. This also happened to birthday of

Sq.Lg. Giri. Cake was splashed, dance was on and the retiring Trs were given a night to remember.

UUNNDDEERR TTHHEE SSTTAARRSS::

It is surprising how the bonding goes to another level during the night outs. The place was RA farms 60

km from Erode. The fun & fellowship was unlimited, the Co-host Revanth had us in splits and after Shiv

took over, it was a laugh riot till 4am. It was half past seven when the last Tr took to bed. The meeting

was held in a pool, games arranged for ladies - cards, Thayakaram, pallanguli, etc, for the kids the main

draw was the swimming pool. They also enjoyed games like catch me, statue, trap the Tadpole kept them

occupied.

IIRROO:: A trip to Ooty to spend a day with the Trs from OT - 311, Germany was never on the cards but

however Tr. Nandhu forced me on this trip along with r. Krishnamoorthy. What a memorable trip this

turned out to be.. We spent time on Horse Riding, Boating, and a visit to the Famous Botanical garden. It

was unique to bond with Tr & his family from another country.

Readers, these were just few of the long and joyful list of fellowship we had this year. The Prelude to

WANNACOME where every 3 days we had a meeting, heated argument and fellowship, travelling to

other Area AGMs and Tables will always remain part of our found memories. Road Trip to Goa along with

HT Babu is another such memorable experience, but will pen that in the next edition….
