Annual Report 2013 - 2014
Message from the University Registrar
I am pleased to share with you the
Office of the University Registrar’s 2013-2014 annual report, focusing on our accomplishments over the past year, future initiatives, and core functions of our department.
As many of you have experienced first-hand, the Registrar’s Office is composed of a fantastic team of customer service oriented individuals. This is a hard working group who strive to meet the needs of, and develop strong working relationships with the greater UD community. We look forward to working with you in the upcoming academic year, guided by our mission statement and our newly developed vision statement. I invite you to read both statements listed in boxes on this page. Recently, the Division of Enrollment Management was created, which includes the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, Student Financial Services and the University Tutoring Center. We look forward to contributing to the advancement of the University within this new structure, under the direction of Chris Lucier, Vice President for Enrollment Management.
The Registrar’s Office enjoys little employee turnover. However,
there were two changes this year that merit mentioning: we welcomed Colleen Kent to the department in June, due the retirement of a long-term employee. Colleen, a recent UD grad, came to us from B&E and is our point person for change of majors, degree clearance and issuance of diplomas; and, the ID office, which had been under the umbrella of the Registrar’s Office for many years, was moved to Facilities in order to be more strategically aligned with the future of ID card utilization on campus.
Please feel free to contact me or anyone in the Registrar’s Office if
you have questions or comments about this year’s annual report, our services, or how we can better meet your needs.
Best, Jeff Palmer University Registrar
New to the report this year is a page listing the Registrar Office staff with their accountabilities and their contact information, as well as course meeting pattern comparison graphs that highlight general inventory classroom utilization. Classrooms continue to be heavily used, and at the peak times on Tuesday and Thursday all classrooms with 80 to 140 seats
are in use.
