    Partnered Participated Celebrated

    Provided job placements, counseling, English lessons, computer training, Friday Friendship Circle and Saturday PlayGroups empowering families affected by disabilities.

    Joined hands with over 100 individuals, organizations, and corporations to bring hope, making a difference to the differently-abled community.

    Extended Mithra Special School with 13 students, two teachers and one assistant. The building adjacent to our center has become the ideal place for the school and is available through March 2016.

    Participated in various events such as the World 10K Bangalore, The Joy of Giving Week, Food for Change, Colors of Hope and Disability Awareness Day.

    Won two awards at the TCS World 10K 2013: 3rd place in fundraising among 90 NGOs and "Most Innovative Idea": GoGlobal teams.

    Distributed and fitted over 348 mobility aids urban Bangalore and various villages in Karnataka.

    To date we have brought to 4,907 people! hope

  • 1. Wheelchair Distribution Camps: Over 240 individuals were reached through our wheelchair distribution camps in urban Bangalore and villages across Karnataka. These are second-hand wheelchairs provided by Joni and Friends International Disability Center in the USA; then refurbished by ten inmates at the Bangalore Central Prison.

    2. Education Assistance and Scooter Modification: In partnership with the Overseas Women’s Club of Bangalore, proVISION ASIA sponsored 54 students from ages 6 to 15, to attend various schools. We also modified twelve scooters to fit individual disabilities.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    3. TCS World 10K Bangalore: An AWE-INSPIRING day as we participated with 25,000 othersin the Bangalore World 10K! Forty one of our friends in wheelchairs, pushed by VIPS in the city; over 350 runners, four Corporate Sponsors (Shell, Moog, Assetz and Centum) and many volunteers came from the community. We all had such a great time together running, pushingand rolling for a good cause and raising a total of Rs. 35,80,651 ($57,100).In conjunction with our run here, we had a team on the Great Wall of China, on the Sydney Harbor Bridge; in Germany, Sri Lanka, the UK; and in Texas, Massachusetts, California, and North Carolina.

  • 5. Disability Awareness Programs: The team at proVISION ASIA visited different corporationsincluding Caterpillar, Moog and Centum; and Clarence High School, Bethany High School andEnglewood Primary School in Bangalore. Our goal is to create awareness with practical tips andhands-on experience.

    4. PlayGroups and Friendship Circle: Over 1,000 people were served at twelve PlayGroups and six Friendship Circles. It’s amazing to see the transformation in the lives and families of peoplewith disabilities!

    6. Mithra Special School: Our students range from the age of 3 years to 12 years, with bothphysical and intellectual disabilities. This learning center incorporates a growing library, outdoorplay area with safe equipment, an accessible toilet, separate rooms for individual instruction andgroup work, and a kitchen for meal preparation. We provide a platform for the parents of these students to be able to work; therefore improving their socio-economic condition.
