We Implemented the NWEA MAP standardized testing at Nativity and saw our students work hard to meet and/or exceed their expected goals. The completion of the Fr. Tim Hogan Plaza provided a fitting tribute to one of our founders while enhancing our entrance, adding greenspace and providing functional parking. Thanks to all who made this project a reality! We are proud of our accomplishments and extremely grateful to each of you, our supporters, for having the faith and confidence to support our mission in so many ways. It seems a bit cliché when we talk about our mission and how we are changing lives, but I guarantee you that we are seeing it lived out every day. We are so very grateful for this opportunity to touch young students’ lives and empower them to change their trajectories to whatever they choose to fulfill their dreams. Thank you again for your generous support and we hope this Annual Report provides each of you with validation of your wise investment. Sincerely, Carol A.

Annual Report 2019

Dear Friends of Nativity,

Nativity Academy has experienced both an enriching and spectacular 2018-19 year. This past year we celebrated our 15th year of mission-driven Catholic Education in the urban core of Louisville as we serve students and families who have been mostly underserved.

Our signature Graduate Support Program (GSP), once again achieved 100% High School graduation rate and seven of our former students earned FULL college scholarships and an additional four students achieved academic scholarships to their respective colleges/universities.

The Extended Enrichment Program (EEP) served more students than ever before with unique, safe, quality Out of School Enrichment Experiences through several new and returning Community Partnerships.

These enrichment programs provide social capital from which the students draw as they grow into the person they dream to be. Through the Extended Enrichment Program they experience exciting offerings including leadership training, music, dance/ballet, arts, cooking, STEM activities, book club, chess club, athletics, sewing, and more.

Our annual Auction and major fundraiser was an outstanding success thanks to the dedication of the volunteers and friends of Nativity, who support our every effort. The 2019 Auction surpassed this event’s highest earnings ever while providing a lovely evening for all.

Father Tim Hogan Plaza and New Parking LotAnnual Report 2019

Students and staff were welcomed back to Nativity Academy with a fresh look to start the new year. An updated entrance, improved parking area and a meditation garden add function and beauty to the school. The project – named the Father Tim Hogan Plaza in honor of the late co-founder of the school – was a joint effort between Nativity and St. Boniface Church. Sister Paula Kleine-Kracht, (photo right) also a founder of Nativity, is pictured in the new plaza on the day of the dedication.

The Associate Board had a very successful NuLu Festival weekend raising approximately $600 for the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip in 2020.
