Letter from Executive Director Welcome to our 2015 Annual report.
This has been a pivotal year for NAMI DuPage as we prepared for the move to the new Community Center in Wheaton. We saw the Community Center grow from a dream into a reality. We cannot do what we do without the dedication and commitment of our board, staff and especially you our donors and tireless volunteers. The
Community Center has given us a heightened presence in the community and helped to put the spotlight on mental illness in a positive way. We have increased our outreach in every area, reaching even larger numbers of middle and high school students with Ending the Silence, multiple police trainings to help officers understand how to work with a symptomatic individual, community education so businesses and faith based organizations can learn what mental illness is and is not, and how to include rather than exclude people with a mental health diagnoses.
We have expanded our Peer Program for individuals and families to provide one on one support and introduced the “Living Room,” a safe place for individuals experiencing an increase in mental health symptoms to turn to as an alternative to the ER. Families who seek out our help have been supported with weekly support groups and educational classes such as Family to Family which helps family members become engaged and educated. Individuals living with mental illness are able to attend weekly support groups and drop in centers to help them feel supported and cared for. All of this is made possible because of you. On behalf of all of us at NAMI DuPage we thank you and want you to know you are changing lives and help to make a difference each and every day.
Angela Adkins Executive Director
Letter from Board President Dear Friends,
2015 has been an exciting year for NAMI DuPage, with the move into the new Community Center, new recreational programs, the opening of the Café and the Living Room. Planning for these new programs has been a priority of the board and Angela Adkins, our Executive Director.
Angela, the NAMI DuPage staff, and our dedicated volunteers have worked hard all year continuing to manager the many programs offered by the organization. Through all their hard work, NAMI DuPage continues to be a force of good in DuPage County for those who live with mental illness.
The Board is proud to submit our NAMI DuPage supporters a fiscally responsible financial report for FY 2015. Our ability to do this is a result of the financial support we receive from our donors. We thank you for your support.
Cora Mae (Corky) CorleyPresident, Board of Directors

As a county-level affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI DuPage is one of the largest and most innovative of the 1,200 affiliates in the country. NAMI DuPage operates as a financially independent 501(c)(3) organization and does not receive any direct financial support from the national or state NAMI organizations. Nor does it receive any federal or state funding. Rather, NAMI DuPage relies on the remarkable generosity of the community for operational and program support. Last year, NAMI DuPage touched the lives of over 25,391 people, which is a remarkable
accomplishment on a budget less than $1 million dollars.
We could not have accomplished this without your support. Thank You!
