1. Introduction
In February 2015, Mr. Mu Ku Chen was elected to be the new president of
SPIE NTU Student Chapter. He dedicates to organize many activities with other
officers and chapter members. NTU Student Chapter has invited many excellent
experts to give talks in optics, nanophotonics and others, which deeply inspire us with
some interesting and wonderful ideas. We hold the student chapter exhibition to
introduce the basic knowledge of optics and history of SPIE student chapter to high
school and university students every year in NTU, which always attract wide
attentions and responses.
The members of NTU Student Chapter reach to 21 people this year. Thanks to
the support from SPIE, NTU Student Chapter will keep holding more photonics
activities and sharing the valuable experience with attendances in the future.
Please find the fruitful results as below for your reference.

2.2 Student Chapter Exhibition in NTU
NTU would hold a Student Chapter Exhibition which is one of the most
important activities at the beginning of semester. We introduce optics and SPIE
student chapter for high school and college students. During this exhibition, we have
two major goals to achieve. The first one is to educate senior students, we prepared
many easy and important optics phenomena, such as fiber, hologram and rainbow
glasses. The second goal is to share the amazing phenomenon of optics to the younger
students with laser games. We attract lots of students’ interest in optics after these
demonstration.
There were more than 300 people visiting our student chapter stand, and we
introduced SPIE student chapter and daily activities we held, some of the student also
asked our contact information and join our chapter after the exhibition.

2.3 Exhibition in Taipei First Girl High School
Taipei First Girl High School is the best high school in Taipei. When the
Celebration of Taipei First Girl High School in December 2014, we hold an
exhibition about the optical game and optical experiment for them.

2.4 Invited talk and short course
In this summer, we organized a short course about metasuface. Metasurface is
the one of the popular topics in the optical science. We invited Prof. Din Ping Tsai,
Prof. Shulin Sun and Prof. Chih-Ming Wang to give our members short course. Prof.
Shulin Sun is associate Professor of Department of optics science and engineering in
Fudan University. Prof. Chih-Ming Wang is associate Professor of Opto-Electronic
Engineering in National Dong Hua University.
There are three part in this short course, which includes the principles of
metasurface, How to design metasurface, simulation and experiment. All of speakers
shared the most detail knowledge and the most important experience to us.
