Friends,

You are transforming the lives of many children through the power of

literacy. Because of you, more children enjoy reading books, believe “I am

a reader,” and are more successful in the classroom. This year you made it

possible for us to serve more children on the East Side of St. Paul than

ever before, 445!

Our theme this year has been, “Our strength is in our unity.” These words

of Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, foundress of the School Sisters

of Notre Dame, bring to mind so many blessings flowing through our

united efforts to “unlock each child’s potential through the foundation of

reading.”

For 15 years we’ve been blessed to work with a totally dedicated staff,

hundreds of extremely generous volunteers, steadfast donors, supportive

funders, and committed Board members. Together, you inspired ESLC to

remain focused on the rigorous and compassionate work involved in one-

on-one tutoring, ensuring our children have the reading skills they need to

flourish.

Through your support and continued belief in our children, you are

playing a vital part in their success so these blessings can

reverberate throughout the entire St. Paul community for today and into

the future. We can all achieve more, make a bigger impact, because “our

strength is in our unity.”

We thank YOU for being part of this transformational work. We hope through this report you will feel rewarded in what you are making possible. You are a blessing to the children, and to us!

Dean Andrew Audrey Lindenfelser, SSND Board Chair Executive Director
