• Identify the pathophysiology and diagnostic implications of irritability in children and adolescents.

• Describe the mechanism of action, benefits, and risks of the newest antipsychotics in the treatment of schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.

• Develop a plan to incorporate mindfulness into psychotherapeutic and medication management interventions.

• Design a plan to approach to addressing peripartum and postpartum mental illness.

• Distinguish ethical challenges that can arise during consultation to emergency departments and inpatient units.

• Explain how chronic pain affects the diagnosis and management of mood disorders.

• Summarize the current status of new interventional therapies in depression, and appreciate their potential use in the future.

• Identify the key issues in the geriatric patient that presents in a general clinical setting.
