Wow, the change of watch was an awesome feast prepared by Chef Woody, and the program was very entertaining, to say the least. Congratulaons are in order for PC Vivien Dennerll who did a masterful job of seng up the books and finances properly for all the upcoming Bridge Officers. She can be very proud of her me at the helm this past year. We have a commiee meeng with Barb Chrysler to re- new her management contract and hope to solidify that as soon as possible. Please look over the various commiees in the Yearbook and email me about any of the commiees to which you feel you could be helpful. Right now we are in major need of an Editor for the Jib Sheet. The next issue will be April 15. This should NOT be such a daunng task as one would imagine, as the template is prey well laid out and it should be a maer of copying and pasng. Immediate Past Commodore

Thank you to all who were able to attend the Change of Watch program which was held October 4, 2014. I could not have been happier for the wonderful Chateaubriand and Lobster meal Woody put on for us with the help of Barbara Chrysler and staff. My ‘Aide de Camp’ Roger did a fine job of emceeing and bringing laughs to our

members. Best wishes to our newly elected Flag Officers, Trus-tees, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Jib Sheet Editor, com-mittee members, staff, and all those wanting to make a differ-ence. 2015 will prove to be an outstanding year for the mem-bers of PIBYC! Thank you for your support and best wishes to all.

2014 Past Commodore Vivien D. Dennerll & Aide De Camp Roger

Vice Commodore

This was a very enjoyable and rewarding year serv-ing as your Rear Commodore this past year. It would not have happened without all the help I received from Commodore Vivien Dennerll, Vice Commodore Rick White, Past Commodore Jack Bergan, our Board of Trustees and Committee Chairs. I would also like to say a special thank you

to the Staff of the Yacht Club; Barb, Woody, Elizabeth and Ann Marie who helped make the events a success and last but not least to all the members and families who supported our events and volunteered their time. This is what makes Put-in-Bay Yacht Club a special and fun place for all ages to enjoy! 2015 will continue where 2014 left off and be even more exciting under Commodore Rick White and our new Rear Com-modore Debbie Drake Larson. Debbie is full of energy and rar-ing to get started with planning the Winter Weekend this com-ing January. One of my responsibilities will be planning a Big Fundraiser that has a “Special Lake Erie” connection. We are working on selecting a date and the name for the event. I promise you it will be a fun event and you will not want to miss it. I will be asking for volunteers and help to sell the tickets and work the event. Once again, as everyone before me has said...volunteers are what makes our Club special. As always, I welcome any suggestions you have. Please contact me at (216) 832-0572 or via e-mail at [email protected] . Until I see you at the Winter Weekend I would like to wish you and your families and Happy Holiday Season. I am looking forward to serving you again next year!

Bill Boag, Vice Commodore

As I finish my 3rd year at the club I want to thank a tremendous crew that always "steps up" to get the job done. Woody, Elizabeth, Brad, Ann Marie, Bob, Kim, Ian, Carter, Kristian, Connor, Collin and Drake..........you are all awesome. Thank you, I couldn't do it without you. Each year I have more fun and meet more new friends. Who wouldn't like a job like that? The

opportunities to develop this club are endless with the great members I have to work with. Make 2015 your year to help with an event or dinner, meet some new friends and get in-volved with the club. Everything is more fun if you are in-volved! The club closes on October 30th and I'll be back on April 15th. I can be reached during the "off season" by emailing [email protected]. I won't always be by a computer, so please be patient. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I'll see you at the Doldrums.

Barb Chrysler, Club Manager

Manager’s Corner

Hello fellow members. Let me say I’m excited to be your new Sail fleet Captain. We had a nice past season, although we suffered from no wind many Wednesdays evenings. Thanks to our outgoing Fleet Captain Betty Bliss for the job she did and to Jim Hildebrant for the wonderful awards given out at the Racers Banquet. Next season we will try to add more events and races. We will continue to race every Thursday and Saturday. We are go-ing to add a long race series with several races around the local islands to test our sailors’ additional seamanship skills. For those of you longing to join us, but who may not be ready to jump right on the race course, sailing lessons will be added on Sunday mornings and possibly some additional week nights. No pressure, just come out and learn. Enjoy your off season be it warm weather or cold. I’m going skiing. See you in the spring. Doug Seib, Sail Fleet Captain

Sail Fleet Captain

Plans are underway for the 2015 cruising season. For those of you lucky enough to get away to Florida see the notice about the February Marathon Key event on page 1. We have not yet finalized plans for a March event in Naples. Look for an email update if we schedule that gathering. Our summer schedule is still being developed. The pre-liminary schedule can be found elsewhere in this Jib Sheet. We’ll repeat our shakedown cruise to Huron and Vermilion in June and plan an extended outing following the 4th of July weekend. The Detroit hydroplane races are a destination op-tion again this year, but now held in August the week after our traditional Leamington event. The September cruise-out to Port Clinton is back on the calendar and we will return to Cedar Point in October if there is sufficient interest. I want to invite all members who are interested in joining us on a cruise-out to send me your email address and I’ll include you in the decision making for our schedule next year. [email protected]
