New Sunday Missals coming in Advent
Beginning with the First Sunday of Advent, we will be using hard cover Sunday missals that should last for many years. These missals cost $25 each but can be used until they physically wear out. We will gladly accept donations of $25 or more in memory or in honor of a loved one to help defray the cost. A nameplate will be placed on the inside front cover indicating the donation.

Join the Rosary Making Circle: On the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month several come together to make rosaries. Learn to make knotted and/or beaded rosaries.
Another opportunity: If you’d rather knit or crochet a prayer shawl, join us in faith and fellowship.
October is the month of the Rosary in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus Christ and our mother, to seek her intercession and protection.
The annual visitation of the Blessed Mother to our homes is currently ongoing. You can request to keep the statue of Our Lady of Fatima and pray the rosary with your family and loved ones at the convenience of your home for a day, through October until the beginning of the Advent season.
For information call (256) 227-2231 and ask for Shawnie.
A big “Thank You” to everyone who supported and/or came to the Masquerade Auction this past Friday. Because of our parishioners and
community support, we can continue to make Catholic education the main priority for educating our children and have a fun time doing so.
Congratulations to our boys and girls cross country teams as they finished their last meet of the year! Two of our students placed in the top 20 runners for the race and the girls cross country team came in 2nd place!

FINANCIAL REPORT: Oct 20, 2019 La Ofrenda de la Semana 20 de octubre 2019
Remember the Parish and/or School
in your will!
Stewardship “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering...” Nearing the end of his life, St. Paul viewed his years as a disciple as having been spent in a sacrifice to God – just as he had elsewhere told the Romans to be “living sacrifices.” How much does the word “sacrifice” apply to our lives?

Thank you for your gifts and your continued prayers for this ministry to the poor.

Note for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
We made a small change in our procedures since we no longer go up on the altar to receive our vessel. These procedures will formally begin the weekend of October 5/6th.
Instead of Cup 6, we are using the term Lead Cup (L). Please check the new diagram for positions.
Receiving Communion:
If the priest is not assisted by a deacon or acolyte, The Lead Cup (L) goes to the foot of the altar to receive the Blood of Christ from the priest as the priest returns to the altar. If the deacon is distributing the Body
of Christ, the Lead Cup (L) should go to the foot of the altar immediately after consuming the Body of Christ to receive the Blood of Christ from the priest.
The Lead Cup (L) retains the cup, takes the purificator, wipes the rim, and then distributes the Blood of Christ to each minister in the same manner as the priest or deacon distributed the body of Christ and
then goes to his/her position. The ministers remain stationary in the line while the Lead Cup (L) moves
down the line. Receiving the Vessel: After receiving the cup or ciborium from the priest at the foot of the altar, each minister should move
directly to their assigned location for distribution.
