Another School Year Has Begun!!!

What better way to get back into a routine than by attending

church this Sunday! The message is “Renewing Your Mind”

from Romans 12:2.

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture

around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit

through a total reformation of how you think. This will

empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful

life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes..”

We will also kickoff the Fall with Christian recording artists,

Summit Trace. They will be here to bless us and usher in

the presence of God in all three services. Come prepared to

bless them as well.

Bring your family and friends and invite someone that doesn’t

have a church home to join us. It’s going to be a great day!!!

See you Sunday!!

Pastor Wes

CUBA MISSION TRIP This October, Heritage will be partnering with Rick Bonfim Ministries in sending a team to work with the churches

of the Camaguey district in eastern Cuba. The team members are Bobby Boyakin, Caleb Lester, LaToya Shepherd,

Leonard Shepherd, Greg McClure, Ronda Brown, Bob Odiorne, Shannon Westbrook, Georgia Hutton, Chris

Watson and Liz Schuman.

The team of eleven from Heritage has three fundraisers scheduled that you are invited to participate in.

This Sunday, 8/25/19 thru Sunday, 9/8/19 – Silent Auction. Bidding will begin 8/25 and close after worship on 9/8.

We have numerous items including a cedar rocker, handmade quilts, handmade afghans/throws, catered dinners,

coleslaw, deserts and drinks. Adult tickets are $12 and tickets for children 10 and under are $6. Tickets are

Razorbacks will be playing Ole Miss and we will have it on the big screens in the Fellowship Hall!

Sunday, 9/29/19 – Bake Sale. If you enjoy baking, we would love for you to share your talents with us! Everyone

loves a good pie, cake, cheesecake, cookies, bread, cinnamon rolls (you get the idea….). If you would like to

donate items to the bake sale, please call the office and let us know or just bring it on the morning of the 29th.

We look forward to what the Lord is going to do in and through the Cuba Mission Team, and the blessings that

come your way for supporting the team.

GET CONNECTED! What is a Life Group or Growth

Group? What opportunities are

available for me and my family at

Heritage to grow in the Word or

meet new people? How can I be

equipped to make disciples who

make disciples? Visit me in the

Fellowship Hall for the next few

Sundays! I would love to share with

you the opportunities we have at

Heritage this fall to make a fantastic

around $4000! Praise the Lord!!

ATTENTION DANCERS

AND MOVERS! Would you like to use your athletic

DIRECTORY OF SERVICES We are looking for those within the Heritage Church congregation that

would like to list their business, name, and contact information for a

directory that we can offer our single family homes and widows. This will

provide them with services from within our congregation that they can trust

and reach out to when they have a need for service or repair. Occupations

such as plumbers, electricians, yard service work, etc. is what we are

looking for. We will be receiving this information until the end of

September and then we will print a small brochure for those who would

like to have one. For more information, please contact the front office at

479-474-6424.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY Another chance to be the Church: Local Pregnancy Support!

Do more than believe in the sanctity of life, tangibly support it! How?

Take an empty baby bottle today from the Fellowship Hall and return it by Sunday, September 29th with loose change, cash, or check donations for

Heart to Heart Pregnancy Support Center.

One bottle of loose change is generally enough to buy a pack of diapers.

Other ways you can help:

- donate wipes or diapers size 3-5 (place in pack n play in Fellowship Hall)

- volunteer time to teach young parents skills like feeding, sleep training,

or potty training (contact Lauren Post, Development Director at 479-

434-2367).

GET OVER IT The Lord has had a particular phrase on my heart lately. And that phrase is “Get over it.”

When I minister to people, they tell me problems and struggles they have in their lives; often

I will hear the Lord say “Get over it.” Now at first I thought, “Lord that doesn’t seem to be

very gentle. You’re a God of gentleness, what do you mean ‘Get over it’??? I can’t say that to

them! That’s too harsh!” But He illuminated Psalm 91 to me. When the Lord calls us to

mount up on wings as eagles it’s because He designed eagles in a very interesting way. When

eagles sense storms coming they will take flight and catch thermal drafts that will launch

them up in altitude and they will soar above the storm. If you’ve ever been on a plane that

flew over a storm you know what I’m talking about. Above the storm the sun is out and it’s

quiet and serene. There is peace beyond understanding over the storm. So when we are in a storm, or have a

mountain to climb, or a stronghold in our way, He doesn’t always work the same way. If He moves every mountain,

calms every storm, and crumbles every stronghold then what strength will we gain? Besides if we don’t allow Him to

bring the rain then there will be no fruit. He wants us to go above the obstacle. He wants us to elevate with Him for

His thoughts and His ways are higher (Isaiah 55:9)! He wants us to go up with Him and GET OVER IT!!! You don’t

have to deal with the transgression of the world! HE was bruised for our iniquity and by HIS stripes we are healed!

So why wrestle with a vapor on the ground when He is above with our peace? Get over your problems! They’re all

lies! His yoke is easy and His burden is light! So allow Him to carry you over the storms, to the

summits of the mountains, and to the other side of the strongholds and KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

The past is the past. God is ahead and the Kingdom is near! Be blessed and get over it!✝
