Putrajaya WWTP
General
• Putrajaya STP2 - 600,000 PE (ultimate population design)
Why:
When project awarded effluent discharge requirement same as per STP2-M1.
During construction authorities implemented new discharge standard (to include Nitrogen removal) – EQ(Sewage)Regulations 2009
Not possible to change biological treatment process as civil construction started
Solution : to retrofit with MBBR, HYBAS process for Nitrogen Removal

Tun Razak Exchange
Tun Razak Exchange (TRX)Kuala Lumpur’s 1st world class business and financial hub
Tun Razak Exchange
The Master Developer seeks to procure a partner to provide wastewater treatment services and supply recycled water (irrigation, district cooling, toilet flushing).
Recycled Water was proposed for this project and must be at a discounted rate to regulated potable water charge (RM 2,28/m3) to encourage use.
The technology partner shall deliver, install the technology and operate for a long term concession (20-year).
Tun Razak Exchange- Design Data
Tun Razak Exchange- Process Flow
Tun Razak Exchange- Summary
o TRX is setting industry leading targets of up to 55% water re-use
on site through the construction of an on-site Water Treatment &
Recycling Plant.
o Only through the use of MBBR technology and its more efficient
Opex costs has the client been able to levy a recycled water tariff
at a discount to potable water tariff’s (RM 1.70/m3 vs.2.28/m3)
