Any military family stationed at Fort Bragg with a new infant 0-3 months and is rank E6 or below is eligible. Register for your bundle today at our website.

CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

With military spouse unemployment hovering around 25% pre-Coronavirus, low-cost high-quality child care is essential. Before and after school care is essential to allow military spouses the opportunity to pursue educational and career opportunities without the financial constraints of child care. For information regarding the 2020-21 school year including hours, locations, and payment please call our office.

HOLIDAY HEARTS Through a partnership with ACS, we are able to provide children of junior enlisted Soldier/Airmen a chance to receive gifts during the holiday season that they would not have otherwise received due to a financial hardship.

CHILDREN’S WAITING ROOM Children's Waiting Room provides no-cost child watch services for military families during medical appointments at Womack Army Medical Center. We recognize the challenges military personnel and spouses face when trying to attend medical appointments with little ones. This program alleviates the challenges of finding child care during medical appointments and encourages better health and well-being by reducing the number of missed appointments due to lack of child care. For information on hours, location, and how to register please visit our website or call our office.

BRAGG WORTHY GOWNS Bragg Worthy Gowns offers a wide variety of gowns (available in sizes 0 – 26, no male attire) available for any formal occasion. These gowns are offered for rental at $10 each to encourage sound financial decision making and help offset costs of attending formal functions for military members and their families. Dresses have to be dry cleaned before they are returned. This service is available for all DoD ID card holders.

OPERATION HERO Operation Hero is an after-school program provided to military school-age children. A military child moves between 6-9 times throughout their school aged years that is three times more frequent than their civilian counterparts. This program addresses challenges faced by many military children (feelings of isolation, feelings of self-doubt, frequent or long-term deployments by one or both parents and academic difficulties due to frequent moves). The program is offered at no-cost to military families and takes place at schools throughout the region. Call our office for information on locations and hours as these change regularly throughout the school year.

OPERATION KID COMFORT Operation Kid Comfort provides no-cost personalized quilts and pillows to children with a deployed parent to support and comfort during stressful times. However, the program also provides reassurance to the service member. As one soldier shared, “Operation Kid Comfort ensured that my daughter would not forget me during my deployment.” Volunteers cut fabric, print personalized photos, and assemble the quilts to be given to military children. The program is available to children of deployed U.S. Military personnel stationed in North or South Carolina.

OPERATION RIDE HOME Operation Ride Home provides financial assistance to eligible active duty junior-enlisted military and their families to travel from their duty station, back home to spend time with their families. B-4951) Phone: 907 - 0200 Fax: 907 - 1404 Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 0800 - 1600 Overview: The Fort Bragg School System is composed of one primary schools (pre-K – 1nd grades), one intermediate school (2nd – 5th grades), five elementary schools (pre-K – 5th grades), two middle schools (6th - 8th grades). Students in grades nine through twelve attend high schools in Cumberland or Harnett Counties. (See below for Cumberland County Schools) Each school under the direction of Fort Bragg School system is fully accredited by ADvancED. Special Education: One of the most unique aspects of Fort Bragg Schools is the work done with special needs children. The Special Education Program offers a full continuum of services to include consultation, inclusion, resource rooms, self-contained classes, and homebound instruction. Eligible students receive services from Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Psychologists. An extended school year is available to students who demonstrate significant regression and recoupment issues. Fort Bragg School Board: Being a school board member is a serious responsibility but one that offers significant rewards - the primary reward being the opportunity to actively participate in the process of educating our children. However, unlike the school boards in the Local Education Authority (LEA), DDESS school boards act purely in an advisory capacity, providing input to the Superintendent and administrators in the areas of fiscal, personnel and educational policies, procedures and programs. The DDESS school district superintendent makes final decisions on matters affecting the school district. Volunteers provide services and are also offered opportunity to learn first-hand about excellent programs in the schools. For more information about volunteering contact a school principal nearest you.

The DMV also recommends replacement of your driver's license at that time. North Carolina plates are only good if you hold continuous insurance. Should your insurance lapse at any time your license plate must be surrendered to the DMV. To re-license your vehicle, you must pay a $25.00 fee in addition to the cost of the license plate. To obtain North Carolina license tags, you must have:

1. Insurance (name and policy number). If new policy, name of agent and agency.

2. Title (in owner's name) or properly reassigned to them. If the bank holds your title, you must have current registration and name and address of bank.

3. If you came from a non-title state, you need the current registration and 2 notarized copies of the bill of sale from the last two owners.

orientation and in-processing.

MEDICAL RECORDS Areas of Responsibility

The Womack Outpatient Medical Records maintains the outpatient medical records for all beneficiaries who receive their care in Womack Specialty clinics. If you receive your medical care at any of our Outpatient Clinics in the area, your Outpatient Medical records are maintained at those locations.

Requesting Copies of Records

Outpatient Medical Records are retired 3 years after a patient’s last recorded clinic visit. Patients must show their identification card when requesting a copy of their records. The Privacy Act and HIPAA prohibits parents from picking up the medical records of their children who are over the age of 18 without written permission and an identification card.

Request for Transfer of Records Records may not be hand carried by patients according to current Laws and Department of Defense Policy. If you require a record transfer, contact your servicing medical records section for instructions on how to transfer your records to the new location.

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

To make a primary care appointment, patients should call the central appointment line at 907 – APPT (2778). Central appointment line hours are 0700 – 1700 week days. They can also call their assigned clinic, or visit www.tricareonline.com for appointments. To book a specialty appointment, you must first receive a referral from your Primary Care Provider, then call 1-877- TRICARE. To cancel an appointment call 907 – CNCL (2625). If you have forgotten your appointment date, you can also call this line to hear upcoming appointments up to 45 days in advance.

TRICARE APPOINTMENTS ONLINE

All primary care appointments available over the phone are also available online. Just visit www.tricareonline.com and register. Once you’re logged in, click ”Appointments” then select a “Visit Reason” followed by “View Available Appointments.” You can view all available appointments for your primary care manager and select one that meets your needs. You can schedule appointments at your convenience, without worrying about being put on hold.

121

ARMY MEDICINE SECURE MESSAGING SERVICE

Secure messaging, also sometimes referred to as Relay Health, is web-based service that gives providers and patients the ability to communicate securely online. The interactive website allows you to initiate a consultation, receive preventive care reminders, send a note to the provider’s office, request prescription renewals and refills, request lab or test results, and request appointments. Unlike a phone conversation, it also provides an audit trail so patients and providers can view the entire message history. You can sign-up for secure messaging at your primary care clinic during your visit. It only takes a few minutes and it can potentially save you hours of time in the future.

ACCESSING CARE AFTER HOURS

NURSE ADVICE LINE (NAL) All TRICARE eligible patients may call the NAL 24/7 by calling 1-800-TRICARE, Option 1. There is no cost to patients. They can help you make informed decisions about self-care at home or when to see a health care provider.
