ANSYS ICEM and FLUNT setup

1. Insert the CD

2. Open the DVD drive (usually is in F:) and select "setup".

3. A small menu (ANSYS, Inc. Installation Manager) will pop out. Select "Install ANSYS, Inc Product".

4. In license agreement section, check "I AGREE" and then select "Next >>>" to proceed

5. In Installation platform, select "Next >>>" to proceed.

6. In mount directory and installation directory, make sure the mount directory is from the DVD drive (in this case, it is F:\). Default install directory can be change from C;\

Program Files\ANSYS Inc. to any location based on user preference. Make sure Associate file extensions with ANSYS products is checked. Select "Next >>>" to proceed.

7. Installation in Process and takes approximately half an hour.

8. After finish installing, Licensing Installation Configuration Log will appear.

9. After that, a menu will pop out for Server Machine Specification. Fill in the name for Hostname 1. It can be obtained in Control Panel/System/Computer name for Window

Vista. Leave the rest unchanged and select "ok".

10. Select "Exit" when the button appear in Licensing Installation Configuration Log.

11. Product Installation will appear, select "Next".

12. Select "Finish" to complete the product installation.

13. ANSYS, Inc. Installation Manager will pop out again, select "Exit"

14. Open the DVD drive (usually in F:) in My Computer and copy a file named "MAGNiTUDE" to C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files or preferred directory

15. Open "MAGNiTUDE" and select "ap121_calc".

16. "Do you want a license for current host (Y/N) :" type "y" (yes). License will then generated in "MAGNiTUDE" file. Press any key to exit.

17. Modify the "license.txt" text file to "license.dat" registry file. It can be done by open the "license.txt" using notepad and select "saves as". Then change the file name to "license.dat"

18. Open the DVD drive (usually in F:) in My Computer and select "setupLM".

19. In license agreement section, check "I AGREE" and then select "Next >>>" to proceed

20. In Installation platform, select "Next >>>" to proceed.

21. In mount directory and installation directory, make sure the mount directory is from the DVD drive (in this case, it is F:\).

22. Make sure ANSYS, Inc. License Manager is check and select "Next>>>" to proceed

23. Once the verifying license file dates is complete, select "Next>>>" to proceed

24. Select "Next>>>" to proceed to installation

25. Select "Next>>>" after installation and proceed to licensing installation configuration log.
