• ANSYS was developed by Dr. John Swanson and incorporated for use in 1970 through Swanson Analysis Systems, Inc.

• This company was purchased by TA Associates in 1994, and renamed as ANSYS, Inc.

According to “Cyron Research Corporation” in 2010, software license revenue has steadily increased over a 4 year period, which is indicative of a steadily increasing user base (Reference Source 4).
