Tripartite governance- The Danish Parliament (Folketing) responsible for the overall
regulatory framework (management, structure, objectives of the programmes, institutions’ tasks and development
- Trade Committees set up by the Social Partners lay down the detailed content of the education and trainingprogrammes within the general framework
AN ANTICIPATION INITIATIVEThe Central Analysis and Forecast Programme for VET- Initiated by the Danish Government in 2009- Managed by the Ministry for Children and Education- DKK 10 million (EUR 1.33 million) set aside for foresight in
VET 2010 - 2013- For each of the years 2013, tenders for foresight studies
with relevance for VET are published- In addition, international foresight studies with relevance
for Danish VET is identified

BUTThe messages concerning generic technologies or skill needs of emerging sectors are less well received by the social partners. Entrenched positions appear to play a role
SO Needs to be supplemented with initiatives independent of social partner interests to capture “new skills for new jobs”
