Substance Use and Suicide

Dr Hagan is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Director of Psychiatry at Robina Private Hospital. He has a particular interest in Adult, Young Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry and a broad interest in the care of patients with psychiatric conditions including PTSD and ADHD, plus assisting in the management of acute and chronic mental health challenges.

Dr MacDonald is a Consultation Liaison, Addiction and General Adult Psychiatrist in full-time private practice. He is the Unit Director (Dual Diagnosis) at Currumbin Clinic, a Committee Member for the Queensland Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry, a cross-border OTP prescriber, and is currently pursuing/researching a range of novel biological approaches to the management of addictions.

Dr Pearson is a General Adult Psychiatrist and Director of Psychiatry at Currumbin Clinic. He has a special interest in Mood and Addictive Disorders, and the complex interplay between these disorders.

Antonia Murphy is a Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Author with over 25 years of clinical experience in the UK’s National Health Service, third sector voluntary and community organisations and private practice. She managed the primary care counselling service in Derbyshire, UK from 1998–2006, and was a founding director of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Primary Care (CPC) and UKCP PCIP College Training Assessment Committee Chairperson until 2015. Antonia has developed her long-term clinical interest in working with suicide into a training, which has been delivered to over 40 universities and other settings. She is a former Editor of the Journal for the Foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling, and Journal of Psychodynamic Practice editorial Board Member.

Antonia works in private practice in Nottingham, UK. She is the author of the recently released Out of this World: Suicide Examined (Karnac) and co-author (with Joan Foster) of Psychological Therapies in Primary Care: Setting up a Managed Service (Karnac).

Narcissism and Suicide

Dr McDornan is an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist and trained in Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). He specialises in General Adult Psychiatry and Addictive Disorders, with an interest in Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and in particular, Trauma-related Anxiety.
