• PriortothecommencementofYour Journey,purchasedwithYourANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum accountaminimumof$�50forYourpre-bookedtransportcosts(airfaresand/orcruise)and/orlandcontent(tours,hirecarsorotherhiredtransportandaccommodation),and
• ThispaymentmustbedebitedtoYouraccountpriortoYourdeparturefromAustralia.We will not respond to any claim until We have received proof of this payment by You,and
• YouholdatickettoreturnYoutoAustralia,andthatreturnmustbewithinsixmonthsofthecommencementofYour Journey.
Should You hold a date changeable ticket and You subsequently decide to amend Your itinerary that changes Your travel duration to beyond six months, all cover under this policy will cease immediately from the time You make the change to Your itinerary.

You cannot apply for cover for Pre-existing Medical Conditions of any person not insured under this policy.

ownedsubsidiaryoftheAmericanInternationalGroup(“AIG”).
AIGAustraliahasadoptedtheNationalPrivacyPrinciples(“theNPPs”).TheNPPsmayapplytoanypersonalinformationcollectedbyAIGAustralia.
Purpose of Collection
AIGAustraliacollectsinformationnecessarytounderwriteandadministerYourinsurancecover,tomaintainandtoimprovecustomerservice.YouhaveadutyundertheInsuranceContractsActtodisclosecertaininformation.FailuretocomplywithYourdutyofdisclosureortoprovidecertaininformationmayresultinAIGAustraliadecliningcover,cancellingYourinsurancecoverorreducingthatlevelofcover.
InthecourseofadministeringYourpolicywemaydiscloseYourinformationto:
(i) anothermemberoftheAIGgroupofcompanieseitherinAustraliaoroverseas.
(ii) contractorsorthirdpartyprovidersprovidingservicesrelatedtotheadministrationofYourpolicy.
(iii)ANZandanymemberoftheANZGroupofcompaniesinvolvedinproductplanninganddevelopment.
(iv)assessors,thirdpartyadministrators,emergencyproviders,retailers,medicalprovidersandtravelcarriersintheeventofaclaim.
WewillonlydiscloseYourpersonalinformationtothesepartiesfortheprimarypurposeforwhichitwascollected.InsomecircumstancesAIGAustraliaisentitledtodiscloseYourpersonalinformationtothirdpartieswithoutYourauthorisationsuchaslawenforcementagenciesorgovernmentauthorities.However,healthinformationrelatingtoYouoranymemberofYourfamilywillnotbedisclosedtotheseparties.

GENERAL POLICy CONdITIONS1. General–AtthecommencementofthePeriod Of Insurance,Youmustbe
medicallyfittotravelanddonotandcouldnotreasonablyknowofanyreasonwhyYour Journeymayneedtobecancelledordisrupted.
�. Australian Law–ThisPolicyshallbeinterpretedinaccordancewiththelawoftheStateorTerritoryinAustraliainwhichYouresideandbesubjecttothejurisdictionofthecourtsofthatStateorTerritoryinAustralia.
3. Currency–AllamountsshownareinAustralianCurrency.Ifexpensesareincurredinaforeigncurrency,thentherateofcurrencyexchangeusedtocalculatetheamountpayablewillbetherateatthetimeofincurringtheexpenseorsufferingaloss.
�. Cancellation or amendment of Cover–AIGAustraliaandANZmayagreetoamendorterminatethisANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum OverseasTravelandMedicalInsuranceatanytime.AIGAustraliamayalsorefusetocoveranyindividualANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum Cardholder.
Anyamendment,terminationorindividualterminationmustbebywrittennotificationfromUsand/orANZbyordinarymailtoYourlastknownplaceofresidenceandwillbedeemedtotakeeffecteither:
a.onthethirddayafterthedateofthenotice;or
b.intheeventYouareonaJourneyandcannotbecontacted,immediatelyuponYourreturntoYourplaceofresidencefollowingYour Journey.
5. CoverwillterminateimmediatelyuponcancellationofYour ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinumcardforthefollowingreasons:
a.cancellationbyYou.
b.cancellationbyANZinaccordancewithitsrightsunderthetermsofitscontractwithYoufortheissueofYour ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum.
6. IfYouhavealossinvolvingotherpersonsortheirproperty,YoumustnottellthemitwasYourfaultorthatYouwillpaythemfortheloss.
7. YoumustprovideUsimmediatelywithfullparticularsofanyclaimmadeagainstYoubyanyotherperson,alllegaldocumentsservedonYouandallowUsthesoleoptiontonegotiatesettlementof,ordefendtheclaimsinYourname.
YoumustassistUsevenafterWehavepaidYour claimifWewanttodefendYouagainstanallegation.Thiscouldincludeattendingcourttogiveevidence.
8. Subrogation
• IfYoucanclaimfromanyoneelseandWealsopayYou,thenYoumustrefundUstheamountWepaidiftheypayYou.YoucannotclaimfromUsandthemunlessWeareonlymakingupthedifference.
• You mustassistUsevenafterWehavepaidYourclaimifWewanttorecovertheamountofanypaymentfromanyonewhocausedYoutosufferlossordamage.Thiscouldincludeattendingcourttogiveevidence.
• YoumustnotstartanylegalactionbeforetellingUs.
9. Fraudulent Claims–ifanyclaimisinanyrespectfraudulentorifanyfraudulentmeansordevicesareusedbyYouoranyoneactingonYour behalftoobtainanybenefitunderthisPolicythenanyamountpayableinrespectofsuchclaimshallbeforfeited.

ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum meansanoriginalandvalidANZ Frequent Flyer Visa PlatinumcreditcardaccountissuedtoaclientoftheAustraliaandNewZealandBankingGroupLimited,declaredtobecurrentbyAustraliaandNewZealandBankingGroupLimitedatthetimeofanyevent,injury,lossordamagewhichwouldallowYoutoclaimunderthispolicy.It does not include an additional or supplementary cardholder.
Business Partnermeansapersonwhoisinalegal,commercialpartnershipwithYouinAustralia.Abusinesspartnermustbeapermanentresidentof,andlivingin,Australia.
CardholdermeansaprimarycardholderoftheANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum creditcardaccount.
Dental ExpensesarecostsYouincurforemergencyDental Treatment.
Dental Treatment–istheemergencytreatmentofhealthynaturalteethorgumstostopsuddenpain.Thisdoesnotincludenormalorongoingcareofteeth.
Dentist–isageneralpractitionerwiththequalificationsrequiredtopractisedentistry.
Disablement/Disabled–means,forYouorYour Travelling Companion,aseriousaccidentorillness,whichrequiresimmediatemedicaltreatmentorDental TreatmentbyaDoctor oraDentist.ForaRelativeorBusiness Partner,itmeansalifethreateningaccidentorillness.
Doctor–isageneralpractitionerregisteredtopractisemedicine.
Financial Default–meansinsolvency,bankruptcy,provisionalliquidation,liquidation,financialcollapse,appointmentofareceiver,manageroradministrator,entryintoanyofficialorunofficialschemeofarrangement,statutoryprotection,restructuringorcompositionwithcreditors,orthehappeningofanythingofasimilarnatureunderthelawsofanyjurisdiction.
Journey–meansacontinuousandunbrokenperiodofuptosixmonthsduringwhichtimeYouareabsentfromAustraliaoritsTerritories.ThetravelarrangementsfortheJourneymustbebookedbeforeYouleaveAustraliaoritsTerritoriesandmust include a fixed date ticket returning You to Australia within six months.
Luggage–meansthepersonalitemsYoutakewithYouonYour Journey.Thisincludesitemsofclothing,personaljewellery,photographicandvideoequipment,hearingaids,andpurchasesYoumakeoverseas.Itdoesnotincludemechanicalormachineparts,itemsforsaleorcargotakenwithYouorpurchasedoverseas.
Luggage Left Unsupervised–means,Your Luggageleft:
1. withapersonotherthanYour Travelling Companion,or
�. inapositionwhereitremainsunsupervisedforsufficienttimeforittoberemovedwithoutYourknowledge,or
3. atadistancewhichcreatesanopportunityforittobetakenwithoutreasonablechanceofYouapprehendingoridentifyingthethief.
Medical ExpensesarecostsYouincurforMedical Treatment.
Medical Treatmentincludes,butisnotlimitedto,medicalandsurgicalcare,hospitalisation,medication,physiotherapy,specialdietorexerciseprograms,ongoingassessmentordiagnosticinvestigations.

Period Of Insurance–means,inrelationtodifferenttypesofcover,thefollowing:
1. CancellationcoverunderthispolicystartsfromthedateYouactivatedYour coverinaccordancewiththecriteriainthe“ImportantMatters”section.
�. AllothercoversunderthispolicystartwhenYouleaveYourhomeinAustraliatostartYour Journey.
3. Allcoverunderthispolicystopswhenthefirstofthefollowinghappens:
a. theJourney Youbookedends,or
b. YoureturntoYourhomeinAustralia,or
c. YouamendYouritinerarythatchangesYourtraveldurationtobeyondsixmonths,
IfsomethinghappensforwhichYou canclaimunderanyofthesections“WhatWewillpayfor”(otherthanLiability),andthiscausesYoutoextendYour Journey,coverunderthispolicywillcontinueuntilYoucanreasonablycompleteYour Journey.
Pre-existing Medical Condition–means,pertainingtotheANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum Cardholder,anyRelative,Travelling CompanionoranyotherpersonthatmaycauseYoutoclaim:
a. anyphysical,medicalordentalconditionforwhich,treatmentoradvicehasbeenreceived(whetherornotadiagnosishasbeenmade),ormedicationprescribedortaken:
i. inthe30days(or90daysforpersons75yearsofageorover)beforethedateonwhichYourcoverisactivatedinaccordancewiththeActivationofCovercriteriaasstatedinthe“ImportantMatters”section.
ii. Inthe30days(or90daysforperson75yearsofageorover)beforeYour JourneystartsexceptforSection�Cancellation.
b. Anychronicorongoingphysical,medicalordentalconditionforwhich,treatmentoradvicehasbeenreceived(whetherornotadiagnosishasbeenmade),ormedicationprescribedortakenatanytimebeforeYourcoverisactivatedinaccordancewiththeActivationofCovercriteriaasstatedinthe“ImportantMatters”section;or
c. Anycomplicationarisingfromsuchconditionoutlinedabove.
OnlythemedicalconditionslistedbelowareautomaticallycoveredunderthisPolicy.Inanyothercircumstance,aPre-existing Medical Condition(s)coverapplicationforadditionalcoverisrequired.Pleaserefertothe“ImportantMatters”sectionforfurtherdetails.

Asthma Ifnoattackrequiringtreatmentbyamedicalpractitionerinthelast1�months.
Cataracts IfYouhavenoongoingcomplications,arenotonawaitinglistforanoperationandhavenotbeenoperatedoninthelast30days.

IfYouwerediagnosedover1�monthsago,andhavenothadanycomplicationsinthelast1�months.Youmusthaveabloodsugarlevelreadingbetween�and10.

ThemostWewillpayis$3,000,iftheANZ Frequent Flyer Visa Platinum Cardholderistravellingalone,and$6,000iftheholderistravellingwiththeirSpouseand/ordependentchildrenunder�1yearsofage.
(3) Travel delay
Subject to the excess set out in the Schedule We will pay:
ReasonableandadditionalcostsYouincurforaccommodationandmealsuntilYour Journeyisrestartedorcancelled.WewillonlypayifYouaredelayedformorethan6hoursbecauseYourscheduledtransportisdelayed,andthedelayisnotYourfault.ThemostWewillpayis$500,or$1,000iftheCardholderistravellingwiththeirSpouseand/ordependentchildrenunder�1yearsofage.
(4) Missed Connection
Subject to the excess set out in the Schedule We will pay:

ThisonlyappliesifYoumustcancelYourJourneyduetounforseenorunforeseeablecircumstancesoutsideYourcontrol.
ThisamountincludesYourtravelagent’scancellationfeesupto$1,000,or15%ofthetotalJourneycost,whicheveristhelesser.
IfYouhavepaidforYour Journeyusingfrequentflyerpoints,orsimilarairtravelpoints,andYoucannotrecoverthelostpointsfromanothersource,WewillpayYouthevalueofYourlostpoints.ThewayWecalculatetheamountWe willpayYouistoobtainthecostofanequivalentclassairlineticketbasedonthequotedretailpriceatthetimetheoriginalticketwasissued,lessYour financialcontribution,andmultiplythisfigurebythetotalnumberofpointslost,thendividebythetotalnumberofpointsusedtoobtainYouroriginalticket.
Validreasonsforcancellationinclude,butarenotlimitedto:
a.deathorDisablementofYour Travelling Companion,Your Relative,Your Travelling Companion’s RelativeorYour Business Partner.Thesepersonsmustbepermanentresidentsof,andlivingin,AustraliaorNewZealand.
WewillnotpayiftheirdeathorDisablementisduetoaPre-existing Medical Condition.
b.Yourneedtositforsupplementaryexamsortoattendforjuryduty.
c. declarationofastateofemergencyandYouarerequiredtoattendbecauseYouareemployedbythestatepoliceorfederalpolice,fireorambulancebrigade,orthearmedforces.

Section 4 – Accidental death, disability and Loss of Income
4.1 Accidental death and disability Subject to the excess set out in the Schedule We will pay:
Your estateforYourdeath,orYouforYourdisability,ifYousufferinjurycausedbyviolent,visibleandexternalmeansinanaccidentduringYourJourney.
Wewillonlypayif:
1. Youdiewithin1�monthsoftheaccident,andadeathcertificateisproduced,or
�. YouhaveentirelyandirrecoverablylossYoursightinbotheyes;or
3. Youlosealimb;or
�. Youlosetheuseofalimbabovetheankleorabovethewrist.Yourloss,orlossofuse,mustoccurwithin1�monthsofyouraccident,andmustbetotalandpermanent.YoumustprovideamedicalcertificatetoconfirmYourlossorlossofuse.

WewillonlypayYouuptosixmonthslossofincome,commencingfromthe31stdayafterYouwereduetoresumeYourusualworkinAustralia.
ThemostWewillpayYouisthelesserof:
a.thedifferencebetweenYouraveragenetmonthlyearningsforthesixmonthspriortotheaccident,andanyamountYouearnfromalternativework(i.e.notYourusualwork)duringtheperiodforwhichthelossofincomeispayable,or

“Platinum Cardholder” –meansaperson:
(i) beingapermanentAustralianresident;and
(ii) whoisprimarily(morethan75%ofyourtime)livinginAustralia;and
(iii) towhomANZhasissuedanEligiblePlatinumCreditCard.
Thisincludesjointandadditionalcardholders.
DuringtheperiodofinsuranceonlyonepersoniseligibletoclaimthebenefitspayabletothePlatinumCardholderandotherpersonscoveredunderthisPolicywouldonlybeeligibleasaSpouseorDependentChild.
“Dependent Child/Children” means–
(a) AllunmarriedchildrenofaPlatinumCardholderfrombirthtotheageof19wholivewiththePlatinumCardholder,or

(a) AjourneybythePlatinumCardholderasapayingpassenger(notasapilot,driver,orcrewmemberetc.)inalicensedplane,touristbus,trainorferryauthorisedpursuanttoanystatute,regulation,bylawortheequivalentthereofforthetransportationofpassengersforhire.ProvidedthatbeforeboardinganyoftheabovetransportationtheFullCostofYourTripwaschargedtotheCardholder’sEligiblePlatinumCreditCardAccount,and

3 When,byreasonofanAccidentspecifiedin1or�above,aPlatinumCardholder,Spouse,orDependentChildisunavoidablyexposedtotheelementsand,asaresultofsuchexposure,suffersanInjuryforwhichindemnityisotherwisepayablehereunder,thelossshallbecoveredunderthetermsofthisPolicy.
