History Festival Official Opening

Council and the History Group provided morning tea at the Council office following which Councillor Michael Werchiwski

introduced Mr Peter Treloar M.P. at the Old Council Chambers.

Mr Treloar commented that he was honoured to be opening the Event and that retaining historical information was

“critically important” to our District. He was impressed with the Elliston Display.

The pictorial and archival display is open during May every Wednesday and Friday from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Elliston Waste Transfer Station Upgrade

A massive makeover of the Elliston Transfer

Station is taking place thanks to a grant from

Greening Australia. A large shed and

concrete bunkers are being installed and the

area is being cleared of all waste.

When complete, there will be designated

set down areas for different recycling streams

and for re-use materials, which will be available

under Council staff supervision.

We are looking forward to this project being com-

pleted.

The Port Elliston and Bramfield Cemeteries have

had picket fences installed along the front of
