• SAMIR achieved the commissioning of the new Hydrocracking
Complex in March 2010.

Resources Preservation
In order to optimize utilisation of resources and contribute to the
protection of environment, SAMIR is using the most modern
technologies for preservation of resources:
Reverse Osmosis Unit,
Waste Water treatment unit,
Close Cooling Water system,
Solid Waste Treatment,
Reduction of cost and energy consumption :
Reduction of Solomon Energy Intensity Index from 150 to 100
from 2006 to 2010 with the objective to reach 85 Ell by 2014,
Implementation of energy strategy with Shell Global Solution,
Achievement of significant cost saving for chemicals, solvents,
additives, etc....

IT/IS Development
Commissioning of upgrade complex required several changes and
improvements of SAMIR information system:
• Plant Information System and LIMS: New PI system to collect data
processing of new Complex.
• Sigmafine4: Enhancement of material balance and reporting tool.
• SAP System: Maintenance and enhancement of existing SAP modules, as
well as installation of new module .
• EDMS: Modernisation of documents management by using electronic data
management system.
• E-Learning: Introduction of E-Learning system using modern technology.
• Computer Security: Upgrade of antivirus solution and configuration of
internet access to protect the company’s data.
