Just as during the initial furnishing 20 years ago, those in charge once again opted for floor coatings with MMA (methyl methacrylate) resins from Silikal to refurbish “FrischeParadies”. Resilient and completely seamless flooring was applied in the bistro, the refrigerated and sales areas for fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, as well as in the offices, corridors and incoming goods area without having to close the market. The same flooring was also installed in the new incoming goods area with two lorry drives, interim storage, walk-in freezers, smoked goods storage and large working room.
With this expansion and renovation work, the supplier of approximately 12,000 delicacies from more than 70 countries around the world has significantly extended its premises and created a friendly and inviting atmosphere. This is particularly evident in the bistro which has become a popular and extremely well visited meeting point for gourmets. The ochre yellow flooring here complements the warm brown and yellow shades of the furnishings perfectly.

A variety of finishes were also used for the surface structure – R10, R11 or R12 levels of slip resistance were chosen based on the requirements of the area of installation. What’s more: more than 800 linear metres of coving and triangular skirting guaranteed ideal conditions for ensuring ease of care and hygiene in corner areas.
To match the colours of the various room concepts in the individual market areas, reactive resin systems dressed with light grey, grey, black and ochre yellow quartz were used.

All the work was carried out in several stages
without any interruption to day-to-day business.
The systems Silikal R 53, Silikal R 63 and Silikal R 73 which were used for the flooring in the catering and office areas were tested for emissions according to the specifications of the AgBB (German Committee for Health-related Evaluation of Building Products) for recreation rooms.
The contractors renovated 1,560 m² of flooring in the existing building and applied a further 560 m² in the newly built gourmet temple.
The individual areas could be used again just one hour after application of the coatings.
“FrischeParadies” in Frankfurt was opened in 1994 as a supplier and provider of high-quality speciality foods for both the catering sector and private customers. Today the company has ten branches throughout Germany and Austria. It supplies demanding professional chefs in the hotel and catering sector and its wide range of products is also geared towards gourmets and amateur chefs. Whilst the focus is firmly on fish and seafood, the range also includes meat, fruit, vegetables, wine and much more for discerning gourmets.fo
