Town Hall Meeting

On August 8th we held our 2nd quarter Town Hall. Over 500 Administrative Services employees attended across three sessions in the MSC Oval Theater.

VP Williams presented our strategic goals and explained how those goals tie into the university’s goals, our excellence initiative, employee engagement programs, and the Pillars of Success. To review, our strategic goals are:

Goal 1: Increase efficiency and effectiveness through technology.

Goal 2: Increase preparedness, compliance, and safety.

Goal 3: Improve talent acquisition and retention.

Goal 4: Improve campus infrastructure and transportation.

Goal 5: Execute construction and renovation projects.

Goal 6: Ensure effective internal and external communication across Administrative Services divisions.

of the students and faculty returning for the Fall semester. Sr. Groundskeeper Maria Luyanda leads the Core 2 detail crew made up of Carmen Cruz, Shelby Meyers, and Jose Cruz. This crew works hard to keep the landscaping in their area weed free, trimmed, and clear of debris. They also care for all of the potted plants and ground annuals; this is a very big job! Maria is responsible for taking care of the topiary bull at the Marshall Student Center. One day she noticed something dart into the head of the bull. It turned out there was a family of squirrels living in the “belly” of the topiary frame. They had an entry in the bull’s head and an exit… well, at the tail!

The 2016 2nd quarter Excellence Award winners were announced at the Town Hall.
