“Inglourious Basterds” by Quentin Tarantino

»Most of the German-language film com-munity lives in Berlin-Brandenburg! Visi-ons are at work here! Anywhere else, we couldn’t have fought for AMOUR like this, anywhere else KAMINSKI would have had no LOVE LIFE, LENIN could never GO FOR ZUCKER, THREE would have had no WHITE RIBBON, and none of us could have taken so much joy in creating the most marvelous art on the earth!«

Stefan Arndt, Managing Partner, X Filme

»I’ve lived and worked in Berlin since 1976, the year I founded ROAD MOVIES, now called NEUE ROAD MOVIES. Since then, we’ve (co-)produced more than 50 movies from our offices here. I still don’t know of any other city in Europe as exci-ting as Berlin. The capital is a European cinema hub par excellence.«

Since 2007, the federal government in collaboration with the Ger-man Federal Film Fund (DFFF) has annually provi-ded €60 million to strengthen the film industry in Germany, with the funds managed by the Berlin-ba-sed German Federal Film Board (FFA).

Every year, about 60 additional film festivals of all sizes and in all subject areas attract filmmakers and visi-tors from around the world to the capital. The most prestigious award for German film, the LOLA, is also awarded in Berlin, and the city is host to the European Film Awards every two years.
