• (9:10) - Don’t waste my time, it is the most important thing I got. There is only one guarantee in life and that is that you are going to die. When you accept that you are going to die you will be amazed at the life you can live.

• (10:30) - You are a human being. You are not the Hulk. If you quit now, you will be a quitter the rest of your life. Throw everything aside and come at me. One of two things will happen, you will survive and win or you will die trying. And if you are dead, what difference does it make.

• (11:30) - I was born to be a gun fighter, I wanted to carry a rifle and ENGAGE. PERIOD!

• (12:04) - Nothing I hate more than a phony who claims false valor. Be who you are and be truthful.

• (12:40) - SEAL BUDS Class – 10/164 and 16/254 actually pass and make it. Run 2500 Miles, Swim 200 Miles, 200 Hours under water, 1,347,000 Rounds of ammo.

• (14:50) - I wasn’t married, did not have kids, I was married to that lifestyle. All I wanted to do was grab my rifle and ENGAGE.

• (15:10) - If you go down, don't go down easy. The only way we go down is if we are dead.

• (17:21) - The only way we lose is if we are dead. It is win or die.

• (17:52) - If you are a natural athlete, show it, you still have to put out every day.

• (18:15) - The minute you stop putting out is the minute you don’t deserve to be there anymore.

• (18:40) - More people die in our training than in combat. It is easier to get here than to stay here. Someone else will take your spot – intra-squad competition, IRON sharpens IRON.

• (19:14) - People always remember the one guy who does not put out. As a navy seal, you put our or you die, in softball you just lose. Imagine if you took a NAVY SEAL approach to training each day how much better you could be?

• (20:02) - Be the first one there and last to leave. You have two eyes, two ears and one mouth. Watch and listen 80% of the time.

• (20:38) - Upper classman, anything goes wrong it is on you. You settle it. You MUST take ownership.

• (20:55) - PUT OUT 100% all the time. How hard is it? You work till you die. If you want to be the best that is the way it works.

• (21:57) - Operation Red Wings: Matt Axelson, Michael Murphy, Danny Dietz.

• (23:02) - 4KM = 2.5 Miles – Took them 8.5 hours. Rough Terrain. You could clear 4miles crawling in 8 hours)

• (25:30) - 10,000 Feet elevation. In the mountains it would be 120 degrees in day and then 5 to -3 at night. Do you complain about temperature change when you play?

• (27:36) - Paint our faces and get into the mindset we need to for battle.

• (28:30) - Turn your back on a 12 year old boy and he will cut your head off and play soccer with it.

• (29:15) - Goats show up on the SEALS and the whole mission gets changed. You have to make a decision and move on.

• (34:20) - We never leave anyone behind so we made a move to go get him.

• (36:33) - Towards the end of the fight you did not move until you got shot.

• (38:11) - Spun Danny Dietz around and he went right into a bullet. Died in my arms.

• (38:35) - Bit my tongue, swallowed it. We don’t leave anyone behind, we made a movement to go get Danny.

• (40:00) - Axe was shot in the head. How was he talking? You could only recognize his bottom lip. “I am sorry, I can’t help you bro.”

• (40:33) - Mikey was out on a ledge “Making The Call”. I tried to make my way up to Mikey and I could not get to him. I was (45M = 148 Feet)

• (41:48) - Mikey was screaming for help. Everyone has a breaking point. We train to push our breaking point to its highest level. Put my gun down and covered my ears. Which makes me a coward.

• (42:00) - In the SEAL teams the only way you break us is to kill us.

• (44:55) - I heard for the whole day what they were doing to my teammates bodies. Torture is sitting there knowing that one of your teammates is getting it and there is nothing you can do. A helpless feeling is when One of your teammates is down and you can’t do anything for them. The only reason you should not be there for a teammate is because you are dead.

• (46:21) - I started crawling. KO’d myself 5 times from falls. What kept me going, friends, family, teammates, I never thought one time they were dead.

• (46:55) - I never once dwelled on the negative. Thinking negative slows you down, it is what cripples you. If you shoot a bullet and miss it you have to move on to the next shot. Just as in softball if you throw a pitch or take a strike, you have to move on to the next pitch. Negativity slows you down.

• (49:39) - I was not going to quit. I was still alive.

• (49:49) - I would draw a line and crawl to it. I did that for 7 miles. You have to have a goal every day.

• (51:05) - This is the first time I ever got mad. Tremendous self-control.

• (53:13) - You hunt something long enough you know what it is when it is staring you in the face. What are you hunting? What are your goals?

• (53:30) - As Navy SEALS we are trained that our bodies are a machines that can be broken and repaired. Our mind is our greatest weapon. When we flip the switch there is nothing that can affect us mentally. Our mind is able to flip a switch on and off. How do you flip the switch from school to softball to separate the two? What is your pre-practice routine?

• (54:20) - Stuck head first into a hole on the side of a mountain for 27 hours.

• (54:40) - 4.5 days they moved me around the village. There is a custom, if you wander into a village and asked for safety they would sacrifice the entire village to keep you alive.

• (55:10) - HONOR CODE: A real man/woman keeps his/her word.

• (55:55) - I did not realize there were any of you that were good people.

• (55:43) - I am so far from being a hero, you would want me in prison.

• (56:36) - NO MERCY - I had a picture a woman who gave me of her daughter and I would look at this and get myself into such a RAGE - I used the picture as motivation to help me get into the mindset to go do what I had to do.. What do you do to get yourself into a CONTROLLED RAGE - A RELAXED AGGRESSIVENESS, RELAXED INTENSITY.

• (57:35) - War is hell.

• (58:30) - The pilot of the helicopter came in to crash. He was committed to landing and saving me or he was going to die.

• (58:50) - The rest of the platoon was killed by a 12-year-old boy. Marcus did not hear the helicopter that got blown out of the sky. Everyone that knew about the mission Operation Red Wings was on that helicopter.

• (59:40) - The soldiers went back to go get the dead SEALS. They found Axe 3.5 miles from where Marcus said he was. He crawled and walked blind. He was still fighting the enemy. He would never give up.

• (1:00:30) - All I wanted to do was ENGAGE. Where I am from if you lose, you want to go get after the guy who whipped you. I am not going to quit because of a bad mission or a bad game. I want to get back in the fight.

• .(1:01:45) - The pain I felt burying my 67 teammates or in battle was nothing compared to the pain I experienced the day they told me I could not go into combat anymore and be a SEAL. The day my career was over. Imagine what it will be like when your career is over and you can’t play the game anymore.

• (1:03:03) - You always have to have a purpose and have a goal. The minute you don’t you start to die. Write your goals on your mirror so that you see who you want are supposed to become not what you are. What you are is a result of your past, who you become is a result of what you do today.

• (1:04:48) - Give everything you got for your teammate. You don’t let one guy down. We leave no teammate behind. You must know your teammates better than anyone else. We are going in together and coming out together.

• (1:05:05) - If you are in here as an individual you need to leave. You got to be in here to give everything, not for yourself, but for the other people in this room. Everyday someone is going to draw a line. Someone will take your spot. Always remember the hunger. You can always do better. I can always do something better for this guy. Or we both are going to die. Lose yourself and become a team, one unit. We are able to do what we do because we are a team.
